📈LEVEL & TALENT📈
Normal Attack ≥ Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst
While Hu Tao's Normal Attack Talent should be your main focus, don't overlook her Elemental Skill and Burst Talents. Her Skill Talent is almost as crucial as her Normal Attack Talent for her total damage output. Additionally, her Elemental Burst can deliver significant burst damage, helping her to clear multi-wave content effortlessly or even one-shot chambers with high investment.
BEST WEAPONS OPTIONS
Staff of Homa: Hu Tao’s undisputed Best-in-Slot weapon. This weapon is powerful even for characters that can't fully utilize its passive effects, but Hu Tao gets the most out of it. She takes full advantage of the weapon’s HP% passive and benefits from her own HP-draining abilities.
Staff of the Scarlet Sands: Although Hu Tao can't fully stack the Staff of the Scarlet Sands in single-target scenarios, its Elemental Mastery to Attack conversion and high CRIT Rate make it very powerful, especially with high EM builds.
Ballad of the Fjords: This Battle Pass weapon is highly competitive at Refinement Rank 1 (R1) and ranks among Hu Tao's top weapons at Refinement Rank 5 (R5) when its passive is active. The passive effect is easily triggered with a team consisting of three different elements, making it suitable for most of Hu Tao’s preferred team compositions.
BEST ARTIFACTS
Crimson Witch of Flames(4): Highly effective on Hu Tao, even though she can only get one stack of its 4-piece effect. She still gains from all its benefits. Additionally, it synergizes well with Elemental Mastery buffs and can be easily farmed or obtained through the strongbox, making it a versatile and well-rounded set.
*Shimenawa’s Reminiscence(4):*Offers higher damage on Hu Tao’s Normal and Charged Attacks compared to the 4-piece Crimson Witch set, but its Energy drain mechanic significantly limits how often she can use her Burst. This restricted Burst usage can impact her survivability, so it's generally advised to pair 4-piece Shimenawa's Reminiscence Hu Tao with a defensive unit.
*Gilded Dreams(4):*The 4-piece Gilded Dreams set generally performs slightly worse than the 4-piece Crimson Witch set; however, the difference is minor, and substats will often be the determining factor. This is particularly true when the 4-piece effect conditions are met to maximize the Elemental Mastery (EM) buff, such as in Double Hydro teams.
