Neuvillette Burnvape Teams (with Dehya)

Now that everyone is getting a free Standard 5-star character in 5.0 (and every Genshin anniversary thereafter), teams that require constellations on said characters are becoming more realistic, so I think this is a great time to write briefly about one of my favorite teams: Neuvillette's Burnvape team with C2 Dehya.

Nahida variant

Neuv E > Kazuha EP > Nahida EQ > Dehya EE > Neuv CA QE > Kazuha EPQ > Neuv 2CA

One may switch to Nahida after Kazuha's Q if new enemies need to be marked by her skill. Against a boss that requires multiple rotations to defeat, it may be best to execute a 4th CA with Neuv at the end of the rotation (if you still have some droplets) to wait out Nahida's skill duration and hopefully get a new hydro swirl. Neuv can also apply Hydro with a normal attack to help Kazuha swirl Hydro in some situations.

Emilie variant

Neuv E > Kazuha EP > Emilie Q or E > Dehya EE > Neuv CA QE > Kazuha EPQ > Neuv 2CA

Emilie should ideally use Q rather than E, but it may not be worth building enough ER to always do this.

Neuvillette applies Hydro 4 times per charged attack. Most of his Burnvape teams use Xiangling to enable him to vape most of those hits, but Xiangling's energy-hungry burst only lasts 14 seconds at C4, and she provides no defensive utility while forcing Neuvillette into melee range. Despite having the fastest off-field Pyro application, Xiangling still needs Nahida (or perhaps Emilie) to enable Burning and prevent an underlying Hydro aura that would cause Xiangling to vape instead of Neuvillette.

At C2, Dehya's slower pyro application lasts 18 seconds, which is plenty of uptime for a rotation with 3 Neuvillette charged attacks. Her skill encompasses a wide area which is much more convenient for positioning than Guoba or Pyronado is. Kazuha's pyro-infused burst helps close the gap between Dehya's rate of Pyro application and Xiangling's.

When the off-field Pyro application isn't enough and Neuvillette applies Hydro without vaping, he will instead cause the Bloom reaction, allowing Dehya or Kazuha to cause the Burgeon reaction soon after. This supplemental damage is a nice consolation for lost vapes, and it justifies an EM build for Dehya.

Dehya's skill confers effective damage mitigation and slight interruption resistance to the on-field unit for the full 18 seconds. One of her passives increases this interruption resistance to 100% for the first 9 seconds. This is long enough for Neuvillette to complete his first charged attack without fear of interruption. Afterwards, there will be an extra set of his droplets available in case one of his charged attacks is interrupted, and Dehya's damage mitigation will make him basically immortal in combination with his self-healing.

TLDR: In my experience, C2 Dehya is more convenient than Xiangling for C0 Neuvillette.
