The Genshin "META" in Tier List Form
Full Wishing Guide
If you’re new to Genshin Impact, choosing who to wish for can be overwhelming. Even if you’re a veteran, you might be unsure if you’re on the right track with your account. Here’s a straightforward guide to help you decide who to wish for:
New characters often become meta-defining, so it's tough to keep up. Relying on the latest meta can lead to constant chasing of new characters.
Focus on Favorite Characters
Choose Characters You Like. Picking characters you enjoy ensures more fun and satisfaction. Build teams around their strengths. See my individual character guides either on Tacter or on YouTube for that.
Evaluate Constellations and Weapons
Constellations: Some characters become significantly stronger with constellations, especially newer units.
Weapons
Consider the benefits of five-star weapons, but don’t prioritize them over getting the right characters.
Understand the Meta
True Must Pulls: Furina
- Furina provides outstanding support. She has the largest buff in the game, and some of the highest off-field DPS potential in the game.
- She's also extremely versitile, she fits well into a variety of team compositions and can adapt to different roles or strategies, making her a flexible choice for various team setups. Almost every DPS has their top or one of their top teams with Furina.
Why NOT to Pull For Meta DPS
Even though these are the 3 meta DPS in my opinion, I don't recommend pulling DPS based on meta Because of Why Not to Pull for Meta DPS
- Frequent Meta Changes: The meta shifts often, so today’s top DPS might be replaced soon.
- High Costs: Investing heavily in the latest meta DPS can be expensive and might not guarantee long-term value.
- Character Enjoyment: Focusing only on meta DPS can mean missing out on characters you actually enjoy.
- Effective Without Meta: Many non-meta characters are still very effective with the right strategy and team setup.
Meta DPS:
- Neuvillette: Crazy AOE DPS, crazy flexibility. Lots of teams, easy to built, solid single target performance. Great early constellations and weapon.
- Mualani: Crazy single target DPS, great AOE if enemies are close together. She is inconsistent and has various issues, but in the right conditions, some of the best performance. She also works extremely well on a variety of teams, and will likely only get better with the pyro archon. Great early constellations and weapon.
- Arlecchino: Probably overall the best Single Target DPS, decent AOE. Has extremely strong options both with Vape as well as Chevreuse. More consistent than Mualani. Great early constellations and weapon.
Four-Star Characters and Weapons
Useful Four-Stars:
- Bennett: Versatile support.
- Fischl: Great for Electro applications.
- Xiagnling: By far the best (and often only) pyro applicator in the game. Solid off field DPS.
- Kuki Shinobu: Excellent for Hyperbloom teams. Notable Mentions:
Great Supports
- Yelan: Versatile Utility - Yelan provides excellent utility with her damage buff to the active character, and her very strong strong off-field damage, along with being the best element in the game. Requires normal attacks though, so not ideal with all units.
- Emilie: Incredible off-field damage despite little additional utility. Requires a strong pyro unit of some kind to keep burning uptime.
- Nahida: Almost a must have for almost all dendro teams with her great off field dendro application, solid damage, and EM buff.
- Kazuha: Best crowd control in the game, damage percent buff, user of very broken VV artifact set. Not as universal as he once was as there are many DPS that don't use him, but still very strong in many teams.
Good Pull If
These units are very strong in the right circumstances or with the right team. Still very strong in the right circumstances.
Requires More Work
These units are not particularly strong on their own, and require a good bit of planning and work to get great results out of.
Final Tips
- It’s hard to predict which characters will be crucial in the future. Avoid focusing solely on the latest meta, and focus more on characters you enjoy and teams to make them shine.
- Diverse Teams: Build teams with a variety of elements and roles to cover different content.
- Don’t Chase Meta: It's more important to enjoy the game and find a playstyle that suits you rather than constantly chasing the latest meta characters.
By focusing on characters you enjoy and building versatile teams, you can make the most out of your Genshin Impact experience without getting caught up in the ever-changing meta.
