Video Guide:

Welcome to the ultimate guide on mastering Iansan, a four-star polearm character whose fluid mobility and powerful Electro abilities can truly redefine your combat experience. Iansan is a support that apparently rivals the likes of Bennet with her attack buffing and healing capabilities.

For Iansan’s ability level priority, first level her elemental burst, second her elemental skill, and lastly her basic attack. Iansan’s elemental burst summons the kinetic marker that provides the attack boost to teammates, so it is the most important to level up.

For Iansan’s artifact set, you want to use Scroll of the Hero of Cinder because she is a Natlan support. Alternatively, she can use Noblesse Oblige.

For Iansan’s sands piece, use energy recharge. For her goblet piece, use attack percent. For her circlet piece, use either healing bonus percent or attack percent.

For Iansan’s energy recharge requirements, aim for around two hundred ten percent to two hundred fifty percent as a solo electro character.

For Iansan’s substat priority, prioritize energy recharge until the optimal requirement, then prioritize attack percent, and lastly, flat attack. Her healing is based off her attack value.

For Iansan’s weapon, use Raiden Shogun’s five-star signature polearm, Engulfing Lightning, if you have it because it increases attack and energy recharge. The best four-star gacha polarm that Iansan can use is Favonius Lance since it provides energy recharge and energy after getting Crit Hits. The best four-star craftable polearm that Iansan can use is The Catch because it provides her with energy recharge percent and increases her elemental burst damage and elemental burst critical rate.

Since Iansan is a support, she can be played in most teams and can be a replacement for Bennett. Iansan’s best team will likely be Mavuika, Xilonen, and Citlali. Mavuika can be replaced by Arlecchino. Iansan has a unique plunging attack, Thunderous Dive, so she can be played in plunging teams. A plunging team would include Varesa, Iansan, Xianyun, and Furina. A Xiao plunging team would be Iansan, Faruzan, and Xianyun. A Ga Ming plunging team would be Iansan, Xianyun, and Furina. If you want to run a Chevreuse overload team, use Ororon and Mavuika. Iansan could probably be used with Neuvillette if you used Furina and Kuzha or Xilonen. Unlike Bennett, Iansan can be used in Hyperbloom or Quicken teams. A hyperbloom team is Alhaitham, Iansan, Furina, and Nahida. A quicken team is Alhaitham, Iansan, Fischl or Ororon, and Kirara. An electro charged team includes Iansan, Furina, Ororon, and Clorinde. A Chasca team can include Iansan, Bennett, and Furina. In international teams, Iansan can be used alongside Raiden Shogun, Bennett, and Xiangling.

Iansan’s gameplay revolves around swift, consecutive spear strikes in her normal attack sequence, which can hit up to three times in a row, keeping foes on the back foot. When you need to cover ground quickly, her charged attack lets her dash forward while dealing damage along the way. And if you’re looking to make a dramatic entrance—a well-timed plunging attack allows her to descend from mid-air, striking enemies in a wide area with devastating force.

The magic really happens when Iansan enters her Nightsoul's Blessing state. In this mode, her charged attack morphs into the Thunderous Dive, a high-impact move that not only leaps her forward but also deals A.o.E. Electro damage with a unique twist. Her Elemental Skill further enhances her mobility by dashing her forward to deliver Electro damage with a special property, and right after the dash, you can follow up with a Thunderous Dive without spending any additional stamina. This maneuver not only restores her Nightsoul Points to full but also propels her into the Nightsoul's Blessing state, where her movement speed and jumping ability receive a significant boost. If you hold down the sprint button, you even activate Lightning Rush mode, which lets her traverse challenging terrain, leap over water, and even glide above Liquid Phlogiston without taking damage.

Iansan’s Elemental Burst is another cornerstone of her kit. When activated, she slams the ground to release A.o.E. Electro damage while summoning a kinetic marker—a unique tool that enhances the attack of your active character based on Iansan’s current Nightsoul Points. Upon using her elemental burst, Iansan gains an extra fifteen Nightsoul Points and steps into the Nightsoul's Blessing state. The kinetic marker is a versatile asset that not only increases your team’s attack power but also tracks the movement of your active character, restoring additional Nightsoul Points every second. This marker remains active as long as the Nightsoul's Blessing state is maintained, ensuring that both Iansan and her teammates stay charged for the next big move.

Delving deeper into her talents, you will find that Iansan’s kit is designed with synergy and energy management in mind. After her Thunderous Dive lands, she gains the Standard Action effect, boosting her attack by twenty percent for fifteen seconds and offering extra Nightsoul Point restoration through the kinetic marker. Moreover, when nearby party members trigger their Nightsoul Bursts, she benefits from the Warm-up Effect, which not only supports energy regeneration but also heals your active character based on a percentage of her attack. One of her standout talents even allows Iansan to maintain the Nightsoul's Blessing state by consuming Phlogiston once her Nightsoul Points are depleted, meaning she can stay in high gear even during extended fights. In areas governed by the Phlogiston mechanism, switching to Iansan while sprinting or being airborne can trigger an immediate boost of twenty-five Nightsoul Points, and as the Phlogiston level drops, she recovers additional points—making her energy management both dynamic and rewarding.

Her constellation upgrades further elevate her performance. At constellation one, every six Nightsoul Points consumed in combat can restore fifteen energy. Constellation two allows Iansan to gain the standard action effect when using her elemental burst, and if she is off-field, the active character’s attack is increased by thirty percent. Her constellation three increases the level of her elemental skill by three up to fifteen. Iansan’s constellation four states that when a kinetic marker is percent and when the active character, except Iansan, uses their Elemental Burst, Iansan gains two stacks of force surge until the kinetic marker disappears. While restoring Nightsoul points by the kinetic marker, a stack is consumed to restore an additional four Nightsoul points for Iansan. If the Nightsoul Points restoration exceeds the maximum, her next one restores an additional amount equal to fify percent of the excess. Her constellation five increases the level of her elemental burst by three up to fifteen. Iansan’s constellation six extends the duration of the kinetic marker by a total of three seconds. While Iansan procs the Nightsoul Points restoration effect, if the restored amount exceeds the maximum, she increases the damage dealt by the active character by twenty five percent.

The Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact set makes Iansan even more overpowered than Bennet. The Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set boosts your team's energy regeneration and elemental damage output. With its two-piece set effect, whenever a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, the character wearing the set regains six Elemental Energy. Its four-piece set effect states that triggering an elemental reaction related to your own Elemental Type grants all nearby allies a twelve percent bonus to that element’s damage for fifteen seconds. And if Iansan is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state when the reaction happens, the bonus jumps by an extra twenty eight percent for twenty seconds. This effect even works when Iansan is off-field, though it will not stack with similar bonuses from other artifact sets.
