Wriothesley is a 5-star Cryo Catalyst character in Genshin Impact, specializing in high damage through his enhanced Normal and Charged Attacks.
🟢POSSITIVE:
-
Consistent Cryo application for Elemental Reactions like Freeze and Melt.
-
Sustained high damage through Normal Attacks, with less reliance on skill and burst cooldowns.
-
Self-healing and ice-bridging abilities as a catalyst user.
🔴NEGATIVE:
-
Wriothesley's Normal Attack AoE is limited, making him more effective against single targets like bosses rather than large groups of enemies unless they are closely grouped.
-
Without C1, his Special Charged Attack and self-healing have a 5-second cooldown, which can hinder efficiency with certain healers.
-
His limited AoE range can be a disadvantage in scenarios needing wide-area damage, and managing his cooldowns is essential for maintaining peak performance.

BEST WEAPONS OPTIONS
Cashflow Supervision: offering numerous beneficial buffs. The increased Attack Speed reduces his field time and maximizes the effectiveness of team buffs on his attacks.
To prevent overcapping on CRIT Rate, use a CRIT DMG Circlet. However, this weapon can complicate building Wriothesley in Freeze and Mono Cryo teams, as Cryo Resonance may lead to an excess of CRIT Rate.
Tulaytullah’s Remembrance: It performs comparably to Cashflow Supervision up to C1, providing similar Normal Attack and Attack Speed buffs, though it doesn’t enhance Charged Attack damage. Additionally, it avoids the risk of overcapping CRIT Rate in Freeze and Mono Cryo teams.
Flowing Purity: This is Wriothesley's top free weapon and best 4-star option, providing a strong DMG% buff. At high refinements, it rivals some of his 5-star weapons.
However, Flowing Purity should be paired with a healer before Constellation 4. Without a healer, The Bond of Life will block a healing instance from an enhanced Charged Attack each rotation, eventually causing Wriothesley to drop below 50% HP.
BEST ARTIFACTS
Marechaussee Hunter(4): Wriothesley's top-tier set for all playstyles, providing a significant 36% CRIT Rate boost along with increased Normal and Charged Attack DMG%.
Prioritize farming this set unless you already possess strong pieces from the alternatives listed below.
Blizzard Strayer(4): Offers a bit more CRIT Rate than MH against Frozen enemies, but it's generally not worth farming compared to MH, which is much more versatile. This set performs similarly to 4pc SR in Mono Cryo teams.
Keep in mind that the uptime for Frozen enemies is reduced by the Shatter effect from Wriothesley's Charged Attacks.
Shimenawa's Reminiscence(4): The 4pc effect's Energy drain causes Wriothesley to use his Burst even less often. If Wriothesley is at C2 or higher, this set is not advisable as his Burst becomes more valuable at those Constellations.
