Try to whittle down your opponent with short and effective trades based around your Passive and your W.
In team fights, look to flank the enemy backline and aim to taunt as many champions as you can. Only do this if your team is there to follow up.
Use your R proactively when you see your teammates going for 1v1’s. Keep a constant eye on the map for ganks and be prepared to pull the trigger if needed.

Gwen: Gwen's sustained damage and mobility can make it difficult for Shen to engage and trade effectively. Her W can also block Shen's E, making it challenging for him to land taunts.
Singed: Singed's ability to fling Shen into his poison trail and kite him can be problematic for Shen, making it challenging to engage or trade effectively. Singed's sustained damage over time can wear Shen down, and his Insanity Potion (R) provides movement speed to disengage from Shen's grasp.
Mordekaiser: Mordekaiser's passive and ability to isolate opponents within the Death Realm can give him a significant advantage over Shen in trades. Mordekaiser's R can also suppress Shen, limiting his ability to engage or disengage effectively.

Gragas: Shen's ability to dodge Gragas's skillshots and his W can mitigate Gragas's burst damage. Shen's E can also interrupt Gragas's engage or disengage attempts, giving Shen an advantage in trades.
Tahm Kench: While Tahm Kench is known for his durability, Shen's passive and Q can deal damage over time, making it challenging for Tahm Kench to simply devour and trade back effectively. Shen's W can also block Tahm Kench's auto-attacks.
Renekton: Shen's W and his ability to kite with E can make it difficult for Renekton to engage effectively. Shen's passive damage from Ki Strike can gradually wear down Renekton in trades, especially in extended engagements.

Early Game: In the early game, Shen should focus on farming and using his Q to poke enemies while mitigating damage with his W. Play defensively and use your Stand United (R) to assist your teammates in other lanes, securing kills or turning the tide of skirmishes.
Mid Game: During the mid game, Shen transitions into a strong split-pusher and initiator. Continue split-pushing, but be ready to join team fights with your Stand United. Utilize your E to taunt enemies, peeling for your carries or engaging fights for your team.
Late Game: In the late game, Shen becomes a powerful tank and protector. Prioritize peeling for your carries, using your E and W to disrupt enemy assassins and divers. Use your Stand United to shield your high-priority allies, turning fights in your team's favor.
