In this channel we mainly focus on the underdogs. Showcasing all sorts of underplayed cards in decks that can allow them to compete with the very best. With ranked being released, many of you feel the pressure to rank up, and want the most efficient deck to accomplish just that.

So today I’m gonna do things a bit differently, this video is for the try-hards. For those of you asking yourselves…

What is the best deck to climb ranked as of now?

The answer is Gallade.

Today’s deck is a recent tournament winner, a deck built around Gallade EX with downright perfect card distributions for the current meta. Gallade EX is everything Alakazam wishes to be. With a clutch HP stat of 170, Energized Blade will deal 70 damage initially, plus 20 damage for each energy placed onto its target. This is an amazing 2 energy attack that allows you to punish high end threats such as Darkrai, Giratina and Gyarados. Hitmonlee is Gallade’s best teammate, allowing you to counter Druddigon leads and one shot the likes of Magikarp.

Hitmonlee is the main reason we run 2 copies of Cyrus… and one copy of Mars. Whenever you lead off with Hitmonlee, most players will want to preserve their pokemon in hand so that you lack a target to kick. Yet by doing this, they leave themselves wide open to a Mars play, allowing us to often eliminate at least half their hand. In high level pokemon pocket play this is a very powerful play, as it makes it significantly harder for the opponent to find their key pieces needed for the end game.
