Suspicious Trench Coat
The main users for Suspicious Trench Coat can be seperated into:
- Abomination Units (Brand, Kalista, Nunu) to split Sion into three. This currently is even more powerful due to a bug that heavily increases Sion AD of each clone after the split.
- Any Hellion that is preferably 3 Star, since it interacts extremely well with the trait, granting you multiple bonus units
- Any Revenant Unit (Fiddle, Ivern, Voli) for more CC and good protection with the guaranteed revive
Deathfire Grasp
Deathfire is a good Artifact for any powerful AP user, especially the ones relying mostly on their first cast or targeting frontline.
Zhonya's Paradox
Zhonya's is a powerful defensive item, suited best for units that are close to the enemy frontline (Fiddle, Gwen, Yasuo) or as a means to protect yourself from Assassins and other backline access (Vel'Koz, Karma, Kayle).
If you use Zhonya's to protect your carry in the backline, I would recommend isolating them in the corner, as the enemy Assassins will path towards other units during the invincibility.
Eternal Winter
Eternal Winter is a great defensive Artifact and should be placed on your strongest Frontline units. It has good synergy with Galio's Taunt, forcing enemies in range to get affected by the attack speed slow.
Trickster's Glass
Trickster's Glass is quite similar to Trench Coat, it works best on either Revenant or Hellion units, so the copy either receives an extra revive or spawns additional Hellions.
Horizon Focus
Horizon Focus works best on units that provide a large amount of CC. Kennen is currently the best user, but you have other late game options with Volibear, Rell or Diana.
Mittens
The main value of Mittens lies in the Movementspeed increase and the AS slow immunity, making it a great choice for any Melee Carry (Yasuo, Nidalee, Jax) to minimize their downtime.
You can also give it to Kalista to transfer the item on your Abomination Sion, or simply use it on a backliner for the 60% bonus Attack Speed.
Gold Collector is usually taken early in Stage 2-1 to farm up bonus gold to accelerate your economy. Later on it works great on high DPS units, especially Cannonners due to their AoE proc.
Wit's End
Wit's End doesn't have any exceptional users in Set 5, it is mainly used on units with high Attack Speed to maximze the bonus damage.
Lightshield Crest
Lightshield is a decent defensive Artifact that has some bonus synergy with Ironclad/Mystic and Caval trait. Keep in mind that this Artifact currently DOES NOT work with Suspicious Trench Coat, as the copies won't spawn any shields.
Anima Visage
Anima Visage is a decent defensive item, especially in combination with HP traits like Brawler or units that like running Warmog's like Garen. Though you can simply use it as an additional item for any of your tanky Frontliners.
Manazane
Manazane is a great item for any casters with low Mana Cost, since they can spawm their abilities right away at the start of combat. It's amazing on Pyke if you have his Hero Augment that reduces his max mana further.
Death's Defiance
Death's Defiance is a great alternative to BT/Gunblade, usually preferred on Melee carries. Can also give it to Nunu with Abomination, since Sion makes great use of it.
Luden's Tempest
The two best users for Luden's by far are Kha'Zix and Nunu. Both of can deal an insane amount of single target damage, potentially creating a snowball effect with the Luden proc.
Silvermere Dawn
Silvermere doesn't have that many great users in Set 5.5, you can try going for Udyr*3 with his Hero Augment or Sett 3 in a Draconic Setup. Lucian can be a surprisingly good user, since he has 16 base shots that aren't tied to this Attack Speed.
Corrupt Vampiric Scepter
Vampiric Scepter is absolutely amazing in Set 5.5 and not a dead item compared to a lot of different Sets. There are three different ways to use this Artifact:
- Manaless Units with no downside: Kled, Nocturne, Olaf, Vayne, Kayle
- Combined with Golden Remover after first cast: Nidalee, Draven, Tristana
- On Kalista or Brand for strong Abomination Sion
Innervating Locket
Great Artifact in combination with Forbidden Idol, though it is mainly used on Nunu and Sejuani, since they gain additional HP from Brawler trait and cast multiple times per fight.
Unending Despair
Unending Despair isn't the most popular Artifact, though it has some good users. Garen has a shield based on max HP and units like Rell, Udyr and Poppy also have a shield in their kit. You can also try using it on Nightbringer or Sentinel units, as both traits can provide a fairly large shield as well.
Hullcrusher
Good defensive item, especially for units that are capable of standing alone.
Seeker's Armguard
Seeker's Armguard is mainly used for its defensive power on units like Yasuo or Gwen. Also has some great synergy with items like Ionic Spark to tag more units for bonus stats.
Blighting Jewel
While nobody in Set 5.5 comes close to the effectiveness of Karma/Norra, it can still be a useful Artifact to pick up. All the units listed here have multiple instances of magic damage, so they can reduce the enemy MR by a lot with every single cast.
Infinity Force
Good stat boost item, always useful because of the +25 starting mana.
Talisman of Ascension
Talisman is a bit tricky to use, since units often don't survive long enough. It's most commonly used on Abomination units, since the timer for Ascension is based on game time, so it doesn't matter when Sion spawns into the fight. Foir the same reason it has good synergy with Suspicious Trench Coat.
Lich Bane
Fairly mediocre Artifact for AP users, mainly used on units with low mana pool to maximize the effect.
Rapid Firecannon
RFC is already quite useful just for the 75% bonus Attack Speed, but it definitely excels on units that want to stay safe behind the frontline. Quite useful on Draven to ensure he always catches his Axes.
Sniper's Focus
Aphelios and Vel'Koz are definitely the top users for Sniper's Focus, as their ability hits across the board, but it can also be useful for Yasuo to stay behind the Frontline or to keep Draven safe in the backline.
Spectral Cutlass
Spectral is quite difficult to use, since the unit will take aggro right away and therefore is often taken out early. If you have 2x Spectral on the same unit it will stay in place and teleport to the enemy backline after 8 seconds.
Forbidden Idol
Forbidden Idol is quite difficult to use in Set 5, the best unit is arguably Garen, since his shield actually scales with his HP. You can also give it to Kled with his Hero Augment, since he regain his shield, which also scales off his HP.
Prowler's Claw
Prowler's can be quite powerful on a lot of AD melee carries and Sion.
Fishbones
Fishbones is quite weak in Set 5, but can be useful on units like Aphelios, since his targeting isn't affected.
Gambler's Blade
Gambler's Blade can be taken in the early game and put on units like Vayne. In late game you care less about the gold generation and more about the Attack Speed, so it can go on Kayle/Heimer etc
Mogul's Mail
Mogul's is quite weak and currently not very recommended, can be somewhat useful on isolated units who can stay alive long enough like Hecarim.
