Introduction
The Quickstriker trait in TFT Set 13 brings speed and adaptability to the battlefield, focusing on attack speed and mobility based on the target's missing Health. Quickstrikers gain bonus Attack Speed, which increases as their target’s Health diminishes, allowing them to deal more damage as fights progress. At the four-unit level, they also receive a 200-shield boost for three seconds when their target dies, adding survivability as they dash to a new target. This guide will show you how to harness the power of Quickstriker champions to create a swift, lethal, and resilient team that can outmaneuver and overpower opponents.
Although the Quickstriker Akali Nocturne comp is rated as tier B in patch 14.23c, if you follow the strategy I outline in this article, you can definitely secure a top 1 finish. However, I advise against playing it if someone in your lobby is already using the comp.
In the Quickstriker class, the main carry isn’t Nocturne or Ambessa—it’s Akali. Thanks to her unique skill set and her belonging to the Rebel trait, which has up to 10 activation thresholds, Akali shines as the core of this comp. Meanwhile, Nocturne and Ambessa serve only as secondary damage dealers. In this article, I will focus solely on Akali and Nocturne. As for Ambessa, I’ll cover her in a separate article because including her here would make it too lengthy.

Game plan
Akali is the first unit to take item priority. Nocturne wants to be surrounded to get maximum AOE. Can also play Twisted Fate 3 or Ambessa secondary carry. Anomaly Priority: Akali > Nocturne
As a lone assassin who only targets a single enemy, you need to create enough time for Akali to unleash her abilities. Equip Twisted Fate with anti-healing and magic penetration items. Support items like Randuin's Omen, Zeke's Herald, or Banshee's Veil will also be crucial for your strategy.
- Early game
- In the early game, you can play with a team consisting of Amumu, Vex, Irelia, Akali, and Nocturne.
- During this phase, focus on accumulating gold to reach 50 gold as quickly as possible, allowing you to level up to level 6 early.
- The priority items to build for Akali are Two Hand of Justice and Jeweled Gauntlet. These items enhance Akali's survivability and damage, making her a more reliable carry.
- Mid game
- In the mid-game, you should roll for Akali and Nocturne at level 6, as the odds of getting 2-cost champions are the highest. If you also have Twisted Fate, that’s even better, as he can provide useful support for your strategy.
- To complete the items for both Akali and Nocturne, These item builds maximize the damage potential for both champions while enhancing their survivability in combat.
- You can play with a team consisting of Rell, Loris, Irelia, Akali, Nocturne, Illaoi and Twisted Fate.
- Late game
- After reaching Akali and Nocturne at 3 stars, focus on econ-ing gold to level up and search for Ambessa. The goal is to activate the 4 Quickstriker bonus, which will further boost your team's damage and synergy. Anomaly Priority: Akali > Nocturne
- Positioning Akali is crucial. Don't let her engage the enemy's strongest tank first. Instead, place her in a position where she can target the backline or weaker enemies to maximize her damage potential while staying safe from the front-line tanks.
- Once your team is stable, if you have the opportunity to level up to level 9, adding Malzahar to your comp will make your team even stronger. Malzahar can provide extra crowd control and synergy, enhancing your overall team strength, especially with his Rebel trait and Visionary synergy, which works well alongside Akali and Nocturne.
- Refer to the team composition build above. This team setup gives you both strong damage output and decent sustain, especially once you activate the Quickstriker and Rebel synergies.
