Introduction

In Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 13, the Sentinel trait is a powerful choice for players seeking a resilient, defensive strategy. This trait provides a boost in Armor and Magic Resist to the entire team, with Sentinels themselves gaining triple the effect. At two Sentinels, your team receives 10 Armor and Magic Resist, increasing to 25 at four Sentinels, and an impressive 50 at six Sentinels. This extra durability allows your champions to withstand both physical and magical damage, making Sentinel a strong foundation for teams aiming to survive extended battles and wear down opponents.

How TFT Sentinel Works

  1. Sentinel Trait Bonus

The Sentinel trait in TFT Set 13 grants bonus Armor and Magic Resist to your entire team, providing extra durability against both physical and magical damage. Sentinel units themselves receive triple this defensive bonus, making them exceptionally tanky on the battlefield. Here’s a breakdown of the trait bonuses:

  • 2 Sentinels: Grants 10 Armor and Magic Resist to the team.
  • 4 Sentinels: Grants 25 Armor and Magic Resist to the team.
  • 6 Sentinels: Grants 50 Armor and Magic Resist to the team.

This scaling bonus makes Sentinel a versatile option for defense-focused compositions, helping your champions hold the line and giving your team the resilience needed to outlast tough opponents.

  1. Sentinel Synergy

Here’s a list of traits you can branch into from the Sentinel units:

  • Rebel 2x (Irelia/Illaoi)
  • Chem-Baron (Singed)
  • Academy (Leona)
  • Conqueror (Rell)
  • Visionary (Rell)
  • Enforcer (Loris)
  • Scrap (Rumble)

The Sentinel trait does have one overlap, and that’s Rebel on Irelia (1g) and Illaoi (4g). This gives the trait a good amount of direction for early team building. Jinx is a 5-cost Rebel, who can round out a trio of 3 Rebel and 2 Sentinel with Irelia and Illaoi.

Outside of that, we have a good variety of other traits. The early game units can be used for your frontline, and it’d be ideal if they also provide benefit from both their traits.

Best TFT Sentinel Augments

In general, Augments like Crest and Crown will always be good, but there are definitely more notable ones to explore and discover. As we make our way to the PBE, we’ll be sure to test a variety of combinations and update this article with what we find.

TFT Sentinel Team Comps

The set has yet to even come out on PBE yet, and unfortunately, our team was unable to playtest the Set this time around. While we can’t recommend team comps at the moment, we’ll be sure to come back and update this article once we have a good feel for things.

Conclusion

The Sentinel trait in TFT Set 13 offers a solid solution for players focused on building a durable and hard-to-penetrate lineup. With its Armor and Magic Resist boosts, Sentinel helps your team endure high damage situations, while the triple bonus for Sentinel units makes them especially tanky. Paired with the right champions and traits, Sentinel can be the key to victory, providing the defensive backbone necessary to secure wins in TFT’s ever-evolving battlefield.
