Wuthering Waves Tier List
Wuthering Waves Tier List - Characters Review and Evaluation
- SS Tier:
-
Yinlin: Characteristics: Highest return from upgrading Resonance Chain, and electro-element skills come with critical hits. Recommendation: Recommended as the first choice for F2P
-
Jinhsi: Characteristics: Unlike most characters, Jinhsi initiates her burst phase with a Skill, offering greater flexibility. Recommendation: Excellent damage, effective against both single targets and groups.
-
Verina: Characteristics: Great in support, does not rely heavily on Resonance Chain. Recommendation: Although usable during the early stages, upgrading to the sixth Resonance chain doesn’t significantly improve performance. SS tier in the early game stage but will be an S tier character in term of return value.
- S Tier:
-
Zhezhi: Characteristics: Assist your team with consistent coordination through her “Libeation” ability. Grant the DPS members Glacial DMG Amplification and Skill DMG Amplification buffs. Aid in restoring energy to teammates. Recommendation: The damage output is not exceptional.
-
Changli: Characteristics: Delivers substantial damage as a Sub-DPS or Support role, offering Fusion DMG Amplification and Liberation DMG Amplification to allies. Recommendation: Characters capable of fully maximizing her amplification buff are exceedingly uncommon.
-
Jiyan: Characteristics: Low return on investing first two resonance chains, weak against single targets. Recommendation: Invest his Resonance Chain to Sequence 3 or Sequence 6 to maximize his potential.
-
Baizhi: Characteristics: Can replace Verina, suitable for early stages as a support. Recommendation: F2P option to replace Verina, only invest to Baizhi if you are unable to get Verina.
-
Encore: Characteristics: Skill operation requires delay, which might affect the rotation, and is weak in ranged damage. Recommendation: Suitable for use during the early stages but needs to be paired with melee characters and not recommended as a primary character. Still a marginal S tier character given the stats of the character.
-
Sanhua: Characteristics: Average Character, hard to operate due to the special mechanism of Forte Circuit. Take time to warm up. Recommendation: Can be used if you are confident to handle her Forte Circuit well.
-
Calcharo: Characteristics: Overall strong attributes and skills. High return for breaking through and Resonance Chain Recommendation: Recommend at least a micro-upgrade to the second Resonance Chain sequence, worth investing in the full Resonance Chain.
-
Mortefi: Characteristics: All-rounded support for Heavy attack. Easy to pair up with any character comes with heavy attack damage. Recommendation: Suitable for use with teams both using melee or ranged units as heavy attack support might be used with different characters, worth investing with limited resources.

-
Lingyang: Characteristics: Complex skill operation and rotation. primary rotation relies on Forte Circuit and Lion Spirit mechanism. Recommendation: Not sufficiently powerful, difficult to use, and not recommended as a primary character.
-
Chixia: Characteristics: Requires standing still for her damage rotation, not user friendly skill mechanism design. Recommendation: Not recommended as a primary character, suitable for use except for exploring and daily.
-
Danjin: Characteristics: High damage output to enemies marked with Danjin’s debuff, but difficult to excel. Recommendation: Hard to use, but since it is a strong 4-star you can consider investing into her.
- B Tier
-
Yangyang: Characteristics: Skill rotation has blank periods, will have to switch characters frequently due to Rules for Echoes Acquisition. Recommendation: Suggest using in the early stage, not recommended for heavy investment, limited choice for team forming.
-
Jianxin: Characteristics: Damage is not competitive compared to other SS tier characters, more suitable for early stages, and relatively simple skill operation. Recommendation: Not recommended for heavy investment, second resonance chain is sufficient.
-
Taoqi: Characteristics: Above-average damage and slow attack speed, focus more on defense, reducing the damage taken. Recommendation: Suggest using in the early stage, not recommended for heavy investment due to low return.
-
Rover: Characteristics: Low return on Resonance Chain, resonance chain mainly increases the support ability of the character rather than damage. Recommendation: Suggest using in the early stage with no other option, damage and support both fall behind other characters.
- C Tier
-
Yuanwu: Characteristics: Can serve as a support, but requires high technique due to Forte circuit, need to well manage the skill rotation time. Recommendation: Can be used if you are experienced in Yuanwu’s Forte circuit mechanism, but not recommended as a primary character.
-
Aalto: Characteristics: Average ranged damage. “Mist Avatar” to taunt the surrounding targets which is good for avoid taking damage. Hard to gain concerto energy using Aalto which lower the average damage of the team. Recommendation: Use with same element character but not suggested to be used with other characters due to current design of Aalto.
