Video Guide:

Hey everyone, welcome to our guide for the upcoming Imaginary Harmony five-star character, Sunday. He is set to be released in the first half of patch two, point seven of Honkai Star Rail. He is shaping up to be an amazing support for the new summoning mechanic. Sunday is the first limited gacha Imaginary Harmony support in Honkai Star Rail; the Imaginary Trailblazer is free. Summon characters currently in the game include Lingsha, Jing Yuan, and Topaz and Numby, so Sunday can help their teams. Sunday is the most anticipated character to be in Honkai Star Rail. In fact, he has the most likes of any character on his drip marketing posts.

Now, let's dive into Sunday's kit. Sunday's Basic Attack, Gleaming Admonition, deals imaginary damage to a single enemy scaling off his attack by one hundred percent. Sunday’s Skill, Benison of Paper and Rites, causes an ally and their summon to immediately take action, increasing their damage by twenty percent. If the ally has a summon, damage increase is an additional twenty percent. Lasts for two turns. If Sunday uses his skill on a Harmony unit, the action forward effect does not work making it so that you cannot abuse action forward with Bronya and Sparkle. Sunday’s Ultimate, Ode to Caress and Cicatrix, regenerates twenty percent of maximum Energy for an ally, making them and their summon The Beatified. Increases The Beatified's Critical Damage by ten percent of Sunday's Critical Damage plus six point four percent. Reduces The Beatified duration by one per turn. Lasts one turns, only on the most recent target. Dispelled if Sunday is downed. Sunday’s ultimate costs one hundred thirty energy. Sunday’s Talent, The Sorrowing Body, makes it so that using Skill increases the target's Critical Rate by ten percent for two turns. Sunday’s Technique, The Glorious Mysteries, makes it so that after using Technique, at the start of the next battle, increases all ally damage by fifty percent for two turns.

Sunday's ability-leveling priority is his skill, then his ultimate, then his talent, and lastly his basic attack. His skill is just so overpowered due to its action forward and increased damage dealt. His ultimate is also overpowered because it regenerates energy and increases critical damage. The talent seems weaker in comparison since it only increases the target’s critical rate.

Now, let's talk about Sunday's major traces, which really enhance his capabilities. In general, Sunday's Traces provide critical damage, effect resistance and defense. Major Trace One, Rest Day's Longing, makes it so that the skill does not consume Skill Points. This trace can be triggered again after two turns. Major Trace Two, Exalted Sweep, makes it so that at the start of battle, immediately regenerate twenty five Energy. Major Trace Three, Haven in Palm, makes it so that using Skill dispels one debuff from the target.

Sunday's major trace unlocking priority is first trace one, then trace three, and lastly trace two because not consuming a skill point is really overpowered and so is removing a debuff.

Sunday’s recommended endgame stats are four thousand hundred H.P., eight hundred defense, one hundred twenty speed minimum and one hundred thirty four optimal, critical damage of two hundred ten percent and an energy regeneration rate of one hundred nineteen point four four percent.

For those lucky enough to get Sunday's eidolons, here's a quick rundown of what they offer: Eidolon One - Millennium's Quietus: Using Skill increases the target's All-Type Resistance Penetration by twenty percent for one turn. Eidolon Two - Faith Outstrips Frailty: While The Beatified is on the field, increases Sunday and The Beatified's Speed by twenty. Eidolon Four - Sculpture's Preamble: Regenerate eight Energy at the start of the turn. Eidolon Six - Dawn of Sidereal Cacophony: The Talent's Critical Rate boost becomes stackable up to three times. Using Ultimate also applies the Talent's Critical Rate boost to the target. If the target's Critical Rate exceeds one hundred percent, every one percent excess is converted to two percent Critical Damage.

Sunday’s Five Star Signature Light Cone, A Grounded Ascent: After using Skill or Ultimate on an ally, Sunday regenerates six Energy and the target receives one stack of Hymn for two turns, stacking up to three times. Each stack increases damage by fifteen percent. After every two uses of Sunday's Skill or Ultimate on an ally, recover one Skill Point. So if you are a light spender and can only go for either his light cone or Eidolon one, I would recommend getting Sunday's five-star signature light cone because Sunday regenerates energy, the target’s damage dealt increases, and Sunday recovers a skill point. Meanwhile, Sunday's Eidolon One only increases the target’s all-type resistance penetration for one turn. Honestly Eidolon One is good, but his signature light cone just has a lot of effects.

Now, let's talk about other light cone options for Sunday. An alternative limited five-star light cone that Sunday can use is Earthly Escapade, Sparkle’s light cone. This increases Sunday’s critical damage, increases allies’ critical rate and critical damage. A standard gacha light cone that Sunday can use is But the Battle Isn't Over. This increases Sunday’s Energy Regeneration, regenerates a skill point every two uses of his ultimate on an ally, and increases the next allies’ damage dealt after using his skill.

Sunday’s best light cone manifest free-to-play four-star light cone is Past and Future. After Sunday uses his skill, the next ally to act, excluding Sunday, gains a damage boost for one turn. This Light Cone provides a substantial damage increase to the ally who acts immediately after Sunday uses his skill. It outperforms Bronya's signature Light Cone in terms of damage boosting but sacrifices energy recharge and free skill points. Despite these trade-offs, it's a valuable option for free-to-play players. This best gacha four star light cone that Sunday can make use of is Dance! Dance! Dance! After Sunday activates his Ultimate, all allies' actions advance forward.

Sunday’s best free-to-play three-light cone is Meshing Cogs. Sunday recovers additional energy when he attacks or receives damage. This effect can be activated only once per turn. A free-to-play friendly Light Cone with modest base stats but offering significant energy benefits. It provides Sunday extra energy for each attack he makes, plus more energy when hit by an enemy. This dual energy boost can significantly lower the number of actions needed for most support characters to activate their Ultimate abilities. It's particularly crucial for Sunday, enabling him to maintain continuous Ultimate availability if that's the player's goal. This light cone accelerates the entire team's actions when Sunday uses his ultimate. It is highly effective for most characters but not ideal for those who depend on precise speed synchronization with their teammates.

For Sunday's build, we are looking at Sacerdos' Relived Ordeal as his best relic set. Its two-piece set effect is to increase speed by six percent. Its four-piece set effect is that when using Skill or Ultimate on one ally target, it increases the ability target's critical damage by eighteen percent, lasting for two turns. This effect can stack up to two times. Sunday is mainly a summon buffer, but Sacerdos' Relived Ordeal makes it so that Sunday can be played as a general harmony support since the set provides a critical damage increase to allies.

Sunday’s best planar set is Broken Keel. Its two-piece set effect is to increase Sunday's effect resistance. When Sunday's effect resistance is at thirty percent or higher, all allies' critical damage increases. An alternative planar set is Fleet of the Ageless, which increases Sunda’s Maximum H.P. When Sunday’s speed reaches one hundred twenty or higher, all allies’ attack increases. You can use penacony’s planar set if you have an imaginary main D.P.S. like Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae.

When it comes to relic main stats, for Sunday’s body piece, use a critical damage main stat. For Sunday’s feet piece, use a speed main stat. For Sunday’s planar sphere piece, use either an H.P. or defense percent main stat. For Sunday’s link rope piece, use an energy regeneration rate main stat.

When it comes to relic substats for Sunday, first prioritize speed until the breakpoint of one hundred twenty speed or one hundred thirty four speed, then critical damage percent, then H.P. percent or defense percent, and lastly, thirty percent effect resistance if Sunday uses Broken Keel.

For team compositions, Sunday works best with summon characters such as Lingsha, Jing Yuan, and Topaz and Numby, with many more to be released in future patches. However, Sunday can also be played in most teams as a general harmony support. Sunday can be played in teams including Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, Argenti, Huohuo, Yunli, and Robin.

Specific teams include:

One: Sunday, Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, Sparkle, and Huohuo. Two: Sunday, Jing Yuan, Sparkle, and Fu Xuan. Fu Xuan can be replaced with anyone sustain and Sparkle can be replaced with Robin. Three: Sunday, Topaz, Robin, and Aventurine. Robin can be replaced with Feixiao, Yunli, Dr. Ratio, or Clara as a main D.P.S. but there will be a decrease in team damage. Four: Sunday, Fugue, Linghsa, and Firefly. Five: Sunday, Argenti, Huohuo, and Sparkle.

With Sunday being so highly anticipated and meta-relevant, I would definitely recommend pulling for him, especially if the next meta teams use the summon mechanic.

I will go over a guide to Fugue next.
