First round of Quarterfinals is about to kick off at Worlds with LNG facing WBG once again, but this time they're fighting for a spot at semifinals rather than being the 3rd seed of the LPL. Will LNG remain undefeated and beat WBG 3-0 again? Or will WBG make it's way to semis or even finals for a second year?
Last year WBG didn't really top the charts in their summer season but still managed to go all the way to the finals during Worlds 2023 by beating the best LPL team in semis. So far this year doesn't look that much different, except that they are going to have a much harder time winning this knockout stage.
So far we've seen this team take lots of risks during their games, this is a slippery rope to walk on; the constant pressure being applied on their opponents at all stages of the game making players crack and commit mistakes has paved the way to multiple victories, but every time a risk taken does not pay off plunges Weibo deeper towards a defeat.
As for LNG, we've seen a huge upset from them when they took down BLG in the Swiss stage. Even though they're the LPL's 3rd seed we've seen incredible performances from the players, a true force to be reckoned with. Scout has been giving a masterclass in the midlane with the rest of the team having incredibly clean performances, but I don't think we've seen the best they have to offer just yet.
The drafts coming from this team have been very scary and well rounded so they come into the rift in an amazing position right off the bat. Whenever a lead is obtained they will not let it go but here is where we might see the win streak end; we haven't really seen LNG create leads, most of these games they have ended up behind in gold and XP very early into the games and only managed to turn the game around by having incredible teamfighting and pushing champions to the limits. This leads to amazing games but makes me wonder, can they keep getting away with this?
Very excited for the matches to come, even though I'm probably not the only one who would've loved to see the LPL fight the other regions rather than eachother at Worlds.

As much as I would love to see Weibo win this series, my money will be on LNG. I can't think of a way they can lose but Weibo will definitely put up a fight winning at least one game.
