ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Protegod, and in this Tacter guide, I'll explain how to play the chemical baroness, Renata.
WHY PICK RENATA?
"Renata is one of the best champions when it comes to peel and can fit into any composition. You'll always be useful to your team and have great value with your abilities, although you'll shine even more in a game with a lot of initiation. If you have an immobile carry, if the enemy needs to secure a kill to win fights, or if you can disrupt teamfights with your ultimate, Renata is an excellent choice."
RUNES

-
Guardian: This helps you and your allies survive by providing a moderately strong shield that will save you more than once.
-
Shield Bash: This rune is quite standard in terms of numbers but synergizes very well with Renata since it improves your laning phase in trades and offers some resistances for the rest of the game (Second Wind is also an option if you don't think you'll benefit from it).
-
Conditioning: This rune increases all your endurance stats, ideal with Renata (Second Wind and Bone Plating are also options for a tough laning phase).
-
Unflinching: Allows you to resist a bit more against initiations you may suffer (Revitalize is possible to take if you think you'll have a more passive role).
-
Relentless Hunter: Renata is a highly immobile champion, and this rune helps a lot when rotating and getting to distant fights.
-
Zombie Ward: This rune helps with map vision; vision advantage is crucial with Renata and your possible ultimates.
-
Shards: Attack speed helps you apply more passive effects, dealing extra damage. Movement speed is a great help for dodging abilities and quickly moving to fights. The last row is very situational, although the scaling health helps you a lot in the early game (your most challenging phase).
SUMMONER SPELLS

Flash is the best summoner spell for both aggressive and defensive plays.
Ignite will be used for extra damage and early grievous wounds since our goal is to end the life of any enemy as quickly as possible to revive an ally.

Remember that at the beginning of the game, you shouldn't level up any ability. The Q is a very useful tool for invades. If this is not the case, start with a point in the E and play your laning phase depending on the matchup. Our level 1 is one of the best with the base damage of the E and the passive. Level 2 is a guaranteed kill if we manage to land the Q, so try to play in the bushes. With the W, you can turn any gank or mistake around.
ITEMS

Celestial Opposition: The survivability provided by this item is the best option with Renata. It allows you to play more aggressively and save yourself from any mistakes you might make.
Solstice Sledge: Before all the nerfs, it was a great item with Renata. Now, it's a good item only in games where it's possible to disengage from an engage or when you have to be the engage for your team.
Dreamshatter: Possible item, it works well with your spam of the E ability, but you don't always give the item's passive to whom you want.
TIPS WITH RENATA
- Renata has very good damage, cooldowns, and base shields. Your entire build and gameplay should focus on sustaining and supporting your teammates.
- In early lane trades, aim to poke with your E and your passive. Remember that your passive deals percentage damage, and the shield from the E affects nearby allies regardless of the direction of the skill shot.
- The W is your signature ability and one of the strongest in the game. Always try to give it to your nearest ally about to die, even if it's your 0/20 jungler. Reviving them has much more value than simply letting them die while waiting for the perfect W on your carry.
- The Q allows you to cast any other ability after hitting it. You can use the Q, cast the E on an enemy close to the hit target, and then move the first with the 2Q (you can do the same with the R instead of the E, or even cast both E and R during the rooting of the Q).
- If you can't position yourself near the front line in team fights, spam the E towards the most vulnerable targets since the projectile is so slow that if you try to shield at the perfect timing, it won't arrive in time. Remember that it doesn't have much cooldown and costs little mana.
- Always remember that your Q can stop jumps like Pantheon's W or Zac's E, so don't use it lightly. In the laning phase, only use it to engage on your enemies or deny a gank.
- In case you skipped the build part, I'll mention it here. You can buy Oblivion Orb since all your abilities apply it, including your basic attacks from the passive.
