ULTIMATE Xilonen Guide
Introduction
This updated guide covers Xilonen, the upcoming 5-star Geo character and sword wielder in Genshin Impact. Unlike main DPS characters, Xilonen shines as a powerful support. She scales with defense, similar to other Geo characters, providing healing and excellent support capabilities. While her damage output isn’t as high as on-field DPS units, Xilonen excels in boosting team survival and support. Her utility is comparable to Kazuha in teams that can’t fully capitalize on his swirl abilities.
Normal Attack
In Nightsoul's Blessing: Blade Roller, Xilonen is limited to using only normal attacks, with charged attacks disabled. During this time, her normal and plunging attacks scale with her defense and inflict Geo damage. However, keeping Xilonen on the field too long isn’t ideal, so these abilities aren’t a primary focus.
Elemental Skill: Yohual's Scratch
Xilonen’s Elemental Skill, Yohual's Scratch, delivers Geo damage aligned with Nightsoul based on her defense while executing a forward dash. Upon activation, she gains 45 Nightsoul points and enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state, transitioning into Blade Roller mode. Xilonen carries three samples that decrease enemy elemental resistance based on her teammates' elemental types. The initial sample is Geo, and one will change to match the elemental type of each teammate, including Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, and Electro.
While in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, her Geo Source Sample remains active, allowing her to trigger her talent, Netotiliztli's Echoes, to regenerate Nightsoul points. Once her Nightsoul points reach maximum capacity, she will consume all of them to activate the three source samples for 15 seconds. During this period, Xilonen continuously consumes Nightsoul points, increasing her movement and climbing speed, and enabling high-speed leaps in Ocelot Form for 9 seconds.
With a cooldown of just 7 seconds for her Elemental Skill, Xilonen can efficiently rotate between teammates and utilize her skills effectively. To maximize her potential, it’s best to keep her off the field frequently and pair her with an on-field main DPS. Ensure that at least two source samples undergo elemental conversion by including characters of different elemental types on your team to fully harness her abilities.
Elemental Burst: Ocelotlicue Point
Xilonen’s Elemental Burst, Ocelotlicue Point, deals Nightsoul-aligned A.O.E. Geo damage based on Xilonen's defense. If she has at least two sources that have undergone Elemental Conversion, Xilonen heals nearby active characters at intervals based on her defense. If she has less than 2 source samples that have undergone elemental conversion, Xilonen deals Nightsoul-aligned A.O.E. Geo damage based on her defense twice. Prioritize having at least two sources that have undergone elemental conversion so that you can heal your team since dealing extra damage as a support is not necessary. But also, it may extend rotation time if there is an extra animation for the elemental burst, which may keep Xilonen on the field for longer.
Ability level priority
Xilonen’s ability level priority is elemental skill, then elemental burst, and lastly normal attack. Normal attacks are not too necessary to level up as you want to keep her off-field so that your on-field main D.P.S. characters can deal damage.
Talent 1: Netotiliztli's Echoes
While in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, Xilonen’s talent 1, Netotiliztli's Echoes, allows her normal and plunging attacks to gain 35 Nightsoul points upon hitting an opponent if she has at least 2 source samples that have undergone elemental conversion. If she has less than 2 source samples that have undergone elemental conversion, the damage dealt is increased by 30%.
Talent 2: Portable Armored Sheath
Talent 2 - Portable Armored Sheath: While in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, when Xilonen's Nightsoul points reach maximum, she will trigger an effect equal to that of her Nightsoul Burst. This effect can be triggered once every 14 seconds. Additionally, when nearby party members trigger a Nightsoul Burst, Xilonen's defense is increased by 20% for 15 seconds. To make full use of Xilonen's talent two, you want to have three Natlan teammates to reduce the cooldown of Nightsoul Burst to nine seconds. But this is not a priority, and she can be played on non-Natlan teams.
Talent 3: Night Realm's Gift
Talent 3 - Night Realm's Gift: Blessing of Forge-Fire seems to purely be an exploration talent.
Constellation Stopping Point
If you are free to play, you can avoid Xilonen’s constellations. If you are a whale, constellation two is a great stopping point since it increases stats based on teammates elemental type. Geo: critical rate increases by 30%. Pyro: attack increases by 40%. Hydro: Max H.P. increases by 40%. Cryo: critical damage increases by 50%. Electro: Restore 20 Energy, Elemental Burst Cooldown decreased by 5 seconds. Constellation 1 seems to be good as well because when Xilonen's source samples are active, she can also increase nearby active characters' interruption resistance. Depending on how much interruption resistance this provides, Xilonen may not need to run Zhongli or any other shielders at Constellation 1. In fact, she will provide a shield-like effect to allies.
Energy Recharge Requirements
If you do not use any Geo teammates, her energy recharge requirements are high at around two hundred percent. However, if Xilonen has one Geo teammate, her energy recharge requirements decrease to around 150%.
Artifact Main Stats
For Xilonen’s sands main stat, use either defense percent or energy recharge. For Xilonen’s goblet main stat, use either geo damage percent or defense percent. For Xilonen’s circlet main stat, use critical rate, critical damage, or defense percent.
Artifact Substats
For Xilonen’s substat priority, prioritize energy recharge, then a crit ratio of one to two, and lastly defense percent.
Signature sword: Peak Patrol Song
Obviously Xilonen’s best weapon is her five-star signature sword, Peak Patrol Song. It has a defense substat of 82.7%. Its effect increases defense by 10% for 6 seconds for 2 stacks and can trigger every 0.1 seconds. At 2 stacks, normal attack critical rate increases by 1 percent and critical damage by 8 percent for every 1000 defense Xilonen has up to 3.2% critical rate and 25.6% critical damage. Increases teammates all elemental damage bonus by 8% up to 25.6% for 15 seconds.
Natlan Teammates Theorycrafting
Since Xilonen’s elemental skill, Yohual's scratch, changes source samples depending on if the character is Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro, you want to have teammates of these elemental types. So, a mono-geo team with Xilonen is not optimal. Since Xilonen wants teammates to use Nightsoul Burst if she uses the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact set, Xilonen needs Natlan teammates. So far, Mualani is the only Natlan character that would change Xilonen’s source samples.
Teammates
Xilonen only requires two source samples to have undergone elemental conversion to activate additional effects. So, she could probably get away with running a geo teammate alongside two Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro teammates. A geo-teammate would reduce Xilonen’s energy recharge requirements to around 150%. The best geo teammates for Xilonen are Zhongli due to his shield, Albedo due to his sub-D.P.S. capabilities and particle generation, Chiori as an alternative to Albedo, fulfilling the same role, and Geo Traveler for free-to-play players, as the traveler is good at geenerating particles and provides a critical rate buff.
Xilonen's best Pyro support teammates are Bennett because of his healing and buffing, and Xiangling because of her off-field damage. On-field pyro main D.P.S. options include Arlecchino and Hu Tao. In a Hu Tao team with Yelan, Xingqiu, and Kazuha, Xilonen can replace Kazuha to provide even better support. An Arlecchino team could be herself, Xilonen, Bennett, and Kazuha. Alternatively, you could replace Kazuha with Furina for more buffs, and with Xilonen’s and Bennett’s heals, you should be able to maintain Furina’s buffs. Other healer options that synergize with Xilonen to replace Bennett include Mika, Charlotte, Kokomi, Barbara, Kuki, and Qiqi. Xilonen's best Hydro off-field D.P.S. teammates are Xingqiu and Yelan. They both achieve the same thing by dealing off-field hydrodamage. Xilonen's best Electro off-field D.P.S. teammate is Fischl. Xilonen's best Cryo off-field D.P.S. teammate is Rosaria. If you want to include Xilonen in a Navia team, you want to have Bennett and Xiangling as teammates. For a mono-geo team, Itto, Chiori, and Zhongli are possible. Chiori can be replaced with Albedo, and Zhongli can be replaced with Gorou.
