Optimize Winds of War (Q): Aim the windblasts to ensure they converge on your target, maximizing damage from the tornado over time.

Charge Smartly with Shield of Durand (W): Use the charge duration to bait enemy abilities or zone opponents. Releasing the taunt at the right moment can turn engagements in your favor.

Combo Effectively: A common combo is Justice Punch (E) into Shield of Durand (W) for a guaranteed taunt, followed by Winds of War (Q) to maximize damage.

Utilize Hero’s Entrance (R) Wisely: Monitor the minimap for opportunities to save allies or join fights across the map. Proper placement can shield your team and knock up multiple enemies.

Vision Control: As a tanky initiator, use your durability to maintain vision in key areas while ensuring you don’t overextend without backup.

• E + W + Q + AA: To engage E your target then cast W as soon as you land. Recast right before they hit the ground and instantly Q AA.
• R + W + Q + E + AA: When ganking or helping an ally, R to a teammate then upon landing cast W. Recast W whenever you like and instantly Q E AA as quickly as you can on your main target.
• E + Q + W + AA: For quick burst damage, E your target then instantly Q as you arrive. Quickly cast and recast W, then AA.
• E + Q + AA + W + AA: While at a short range, E backwards to hit your target then instantly Q AA. Cast W and wait to recast until after it's fully charged then AA.
• Q + FLASH + AA: To surprise kill your enemy Q then mid animation Flash and AA.
• FLASH + E + W + Q + AA: To quickly engage on an enemy, Flash over or next to wall, use E but make sure your back is up against the wall. Upon landing use W then recast right before they hit the ground and instantly Q AA.
• Q + AA + E + W + AA: When close to an enemy, begin with Q then AA and instantly E backwards. Quickly cast W and recast right before they hit the ground, then AA.
• W + Q + AA + E + AA: If in close quarters, W and recast once it's maximum damage then instantly Q AA. Use E backwards right after the AA.
• FLASH + W + E + Q + AA: A quick way to start a fight is to Flash followed by an instant W and recast, then E backwards and Q AA instantly.
• AA + E + Q + AA + W + AA + AA: When right next to the enemy, AA and instantly E backwards into Q, AA then W and recast once it's max damage and AA twice.

1. Early game

• Galio needs time to come online. Play safe in the early game so you can scale and come online. Do not get poked down otherwise you’ll fall behind in CS and XP and be no threat later on.
• Keep in mind that at level 6, you will have no kill threat in the lane against most enemy mid-laners. Respect the enemies all-in damage past level 6.
• Your Ultimate Hero's Entrance R is impactful and can be used to help your allies in their own lane. Keep an eye on what’s happening around you and be prepared to cast your Ultimate Hero's Entrance R to assist your allies.

2. Mid game

• When no team fights are occurring, split push and draw the enemies attention to you while your team sieges or makes plays on the other side of the map.
• Keep a constant eye on the map during the mid-game so you can assist your allies with your Ultimate Hero's Entrance R when appropriate.
• Try and always stay somewhat near your team so you can use your Ultimate Hero's Entrance R to help them. One way you can achieve this is by pushing a side lane with your Winds of War Q and then running towards them while the wave keeps pushing.

3. Late game

• Stay near your team at all times in the late game. While your Ultimate Hero's Entrance R has a long range, the enemy may force a fight when you show elsewhere on the map.
• Play around your Ultimate Hero's Entrance R and wait for one of your allies to engage. Once they’ve gone in, use your Ultimate Hero's Entrance R on them. Alternatively, wait for the enemy to engage and then cast your Ultimate Hero's Entrance R on a carry.
• Peel for your carries in late game team fights. Keeping them alive for as long as possible will increase your chances of winning team fights.
