Explanation of each tier
In League of Legends (LoL), tiers are used to rank the strength of champions, items, or strategies in the current meta. Below is an explanation of each tier:
- GOD TIER / S+ TIER
These are champions or strategies that are far superior to the rest, with almost no noticeable weaknesses:
- Overpowered: Dominate most games regardless of situations or opponents.
- Highly preferred: Frequently banned in ranked games and tournaments.
- Example: "Game-breaking" champions right after being reworked or released.
- STRONG TIER / S TIER
Strong champions or strategies, though not as overwhelming as S+ Tier:
- High effectiveness: Can control the game if played correctly.
- Popular: Widely used in both ranked and professional play.
- Example: Champions that are strong in the meta but have specific counters.
- GOOD TIER / A TIER
Decent champions or strategies, suitable for climbing ranks or in certain situations:
- Versatility: Highly effective in the right composition.
- Win conditions: Require players to understand their strengths to maximize impact.
- Example: Not the "best pick," but still a safe and solid choice.
- FAIR TIER / B TIER
Average champions or strategies, neither too strong nor too weak:
- Situational: Effective only in specific team compositions or matchups.
- Less popular: Rarely picked in high ranks or competitive games.
- Example: Champions suitable for experienced players or unique playstyles.
- WEAK TIER / C TIER
Weak champions or strategies, often ineffective in the current meta:
- Difficult to use: Require exceptional skills or strategies to be useful.
- Overlooked: Rarely picked unless no other options are available.
- Example: Outdated champions that haven't been updated or are nerfed.
- BAD TIER / D TIER
Extremely weak champions or strategies, almost non-viable:
- Ineffective: Often a disadvantage for the player or their team.
- Rarely viable: Almost never seen in ranked games or tournaments.
- Example: Champions in desperate need of rework or buffs to return to the meta.
