League of Legends Lead Gameplay Designer Matt “Riot Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison shared a preview of the upcoming LoL patch 25.06 today.
In his post, he elaborated on the issue of losing team bounties. Early-game bounties for teams that are behind have been a persistent concern, prompting the developers to implement a major code overhaul in this patch. The adjustments specifically target early-game calculations that have been problematic. Additionally, Riot Phroxzon noted that the recent micropatch aimed at preventing lane swaps has successfully minimized their occurrence, with the trigger rate now at just 1% in standard matches. He also mentioned that pre-Grubs data from First Stand indicates a successful maintenance of standard lane setups. However, the team is still working on a more refined, long-term fix.

ADC Meta in LoL Patch 25.06
This patch aims to rebalance the ADC landscape by addressing outliers in performance. With measured adjustments rather than drastic nerfs, the developers seek to maintain diversity in bot lane champion choices while preventing certain picks from overshadowing the rest.
This update brings changes to the ADC meta, addressing the dominance of certain champions. Corki and Ezreal will see adjustments in higher MMR brackets, while Caitlyn and Jinx will be affected across all skill levels.
The intent behind these tweaks is to rein in the influence of Ezreal and Corki, both of whom have maintained a strong presence in the meta. Rather than introducing significant nerfs, the patch focuses on smaller, measured changes.
Jungle Meta in LoL Patch 25.06
The jungle landscape has shifted following Darius’s rise in power, prompting balance changes to moderate his strength.
Xin Zhao and Jarvan IV are receiving buffs to bring their perceived impact more in line with their actual performance. Kha’Zix, who has been underperforming, is also set to receive a boost.

Champion Adjustments in LoL Patch 25.06
- Gwen
- Naafiri
- Singed
Naafiri has struggled to perform effectively due to her linear, all-or-nothing combat style, Riot Phroxzon explained. Her straightforward assassin design has limited her strategic depth. To address this, the developers are reworking her abilities to create a more complex and nuanced assassin playstyle.
The primary goal is to move away from a simplistic “burst or be bursted” dynamic, instead introducing greater opportunities for outplay. These changes will provide players with more tactical decision-making in fights, making Naafiri a more consistent and impactful champion.
One major change involves swapping her W and R abilities. This shift ensures that her ultimate holds the weight it deserves, creating more dramatic, game-defining moments. Meanwhile, her new W offers more flexibility—it can serve as a burst damage tool before engaging with her ultimate or be saved for strategic positioning, significantly expanding her gameplay depth.
Gwen is also undergoing a shift in her power curve, moving away from a late-game scaling focus. Instead, she will gain more agency in the early game while reducing instances where she can single-handedly one-shot enemies in the late game with her ultimate and passive.
“These adjustments should make Gwen more enjoyable both to play and to play against,” Riot Phroxzon stated.
