Introduction
Shaco Support is an unconventional but surprisingly effective pick in League of Legends, offering a unique blend of disruption, vision control, and high early-game pressure. Unlike traditional supports, Shaco leverages his stealth, traps, and deceptive playstyle to create chaos on the map. With well-placed Jack in the Boxes and a knack for outmaneuvering opponents, Shaco can dominate the laning phase, set up kills for his ADC, and keep enemies guessing. This guide will explore how to maximize Shaco's potential as a support, turning his trickery into a tactical advantage.

Shaco Strengths & Weaknesses
- Strengths
- He isn’t only a threat on a physical level, but the mental warfare he instills upon the enemy squishies allows Shaco to make multiple plays which other Champions can’t make. He can leave the lane and roam quite easily to get a cheese gank off (even if he is laning).
- His Jack In The Box W can allow him to disengage as well as surprise all-in champions easily. This also acts as a counter to carries who have dashes and rely on kiting to win fights.
- His Deceive Q allows him to get out of sticky situations with ease. When combined with his Ultimate Hallucinate R, his enemy can be baited to attack the clone and CC the enemy team/champion that attacked it.
- Weaknesses
- Falls off like a truck if the game goes on for too long. During the late game, champions start building defensive items which don’t allow Shaco to immediately assassinate someone.
- He is quite squishy, and is quite prone to getting killed if CC’d when his Ultimate Hallucinate R is down. He will need to play around this ability in order to succeed.
- Not a good pick against tanks as it would involve him changing his build and going up close and personal to those tanks. This is not very ideal, especially against experienced players.
Shaco tips and tricks
- Try to secure every objective for your team. Thanks to your Ultimate Hallucinate R, you have good Dragon and Rift Herald control.
- Place as many Boxes Jack In The Box W before the first camp spawns to have the healthiest clear possible.
- Use your Ultimate Hallucinate R to dodge CC and incoming damage. Timing it just as the CC/ damage is about to hit you will make you dodge the damage.

Shaco Combos
- E + Q + AA: To burst use E Q AA as quickly as you can.
- Q + W + AA + AA + AA + E: Your standard gank combo will lead with Q, place Box behind your target then AA, continue to AA and use E.
- Q + W + R + AA + AA + AA + E: To gank after level 6 Q and place your W behind your target, instantly R1 then eAA. Continue to AA until you want to E to execute.
- Q + AA + R + AA + AA + E: To gank or dodge an enemy skill shot Q and get behind your target to AA, then instantly R followed by more AA's until you want to E to execute.
- E + AA + AA + R + Q + R + W + AA + AA: When possible you can save your Q to chase. E then walk up to AA, R1 then instantly Q and R2 to make the clone attack your enemy. Walk around to place your W and AA, then continue to AA afterwards.
- R+ R + R + Q + W + AA + AA + AA + E: Another way to juke opponents is to R1 then use R2 to send your clone out then R2 again to make it attack your enemy. Q then place your W near your enemy then AA, continue to AA and use E to execute.
- R + R + Q + AA + AA + W + AA + E+ AA: R1 then R2 to send your clone away, wait for the clone to be close to expiring then Q at your enemy. Break the tether to make the clone teleport right before it explodes, AA instantly after this happens and AA W, followed by AA E AA to finish up.
- R + R + Q + W + AA + AA + AA + E: Juke opponents with R1 then use R2 to send your clone far away out of vision. Q then place your W near your enemy and while still stealthed break the tether with your clone to teleport it back to you, then AA before your stealth runs out. Continue to AA then E to execute.
Game plan
- Early game
- You are really good at securing objectives in the early game. Look to secure objectives whenever they’re up.
- Find a healthy balance between ganking your allies, farming your jungle and securing objectives. Make sure you do not fall behind in XP by trying to constantly gank.
- Look to repeatedly gank lanes that are over extended or Flashless. Your champion is very good at repeatedly ganking lanes over and over again.
- Mid game
Continue to pick up and secure jungle camps whenever possible. Not falling behind in the mid-game is crucial as a Jungler, so make sure you continue to farm!As you’re a Jungler, you need to try and secure every Drake during the mid-game. Getting them and securing the Dragon Soul for your team will increase your chances of winning the game.Look for picks with your team. If you can pick someone off, make the call for Baron or Dragon to further your lead.
- Late game
- After going in with your Ultimate Hallucinate R, be prepared to fall back and peel for your allies in late game team fights.
- Look for picks in the later stages of the game. If you can pick someone off, you should be able to rotate to the Baron or Elder Dragon.
- Keep a constant eye on which major objective is spawning next. Do not split push or go on the opposite side of the map when a major objective is up or about to spawn.
Conclusion
While Shaco Support may not be the go-to pick in conventional compositions, his ability to manipulate the battlefield, disrupt enemy strategies, and provide clutch crowd control makes him a force to be reckoned with in the right hands. Mastering Shaco Support requires creativity, precise timing, and a deep understanding of his kit, but the payoff can be immensely satisfying. If you're looking to break away from the norm and surprise your opponents, Shaco Support might just be the perfect choice for your next game.
