Introduction
Sivir, the Battle Mistress, is one of the most versatile ADCs (Attack Damage Carries) in League of Legends. Known for her powerful utility and ability to thrive in team-oriented gameplay, Sivir excels at dealing consistent damage and providing unique mobility for her team. Her kit revolves around strong wave-clearing capabilities, excellent survivability, and supportive utility, making her a reliable pick in various team compositions. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, mastering Sivir can lead to great success in both solo queue and competitive matches.
Strengths and Weaknesses of Sivir
- Strengths:
- Wave Clear: Sivir’s Q (Boomerang Blade) and W (Ricochet) allow her to clear minion waves quickly, giving her great lane control and pressure.
- Survivability: Her E (Spell Shield) is a powerful tool to negate incoming abilities, providing her with added safety and sustain.
- Team Utility: Sivir’s R (On The Hunt) offers a significant movement speed boost to her entire team, making her invaluable in team fights and during engages or disengages.
- Scaling: Sivir scales exceptionally well into the late game, where her high DPS (damage per second) and AoE (area of effect) attacks can decimate grouped enemies.
- Adaptability: Sivir fits well in multiple compositions, whether you need a hyper-carry or a supportive utility-based ADC.
- Weaknesses:
- Short Attack Range: Sivir’s limited attack range makes her vulnerable to longer-range ADCs and mages.
- Mana Dependency: Her abilities consume significant mana, particularly in the early game, requiring careful resource management.
- Positioning Challenges: Due to her short range, Sivir must rely heavily on good positioning and her team’s protection.
- Cooldown Reliance: While her basic attacks are strong, Sivir’s full potential is heavily tied to the effective use of her abilities.
Sivir Tips and Tricks
- Maximizing Wave Clear: Use Boomerang Blade and Ricochet together to push waves efficiently, especially when you want to rotate or gain lane priority.
- Spell Shield Timing: Practice using E (Spell Shield) against key enemy abilities to negate damage or crowd control. Successfully blocking a spell also restores health, improving your lane sustain.
- Utilizing Ultimate: On The Hunt isn’t just for team fights; use it strategically to chase enemies, escape sticky situations, or rotate quickly across the map.
- Positioning in Fights: Stay behind your frontline and focus on targets you can safely hit. Use Ricochet to deal damage to multiple enemies in clustered team fights.
- Kiting and Mobility: Sivir’s passive, Fleet of Foot, grants her a burst of movement speed after attacking an enemy champion. Use this to kite effectively or reposition during fights.
- Early Game Mana Management: Avoid spamming abilities unnecessarily in the early game. Focus on last-hitting minions and harassing the enemy when opportunities arise.

Sivir Ability Combos
- Q + AA + W + AA + AA: To trade from further away Q then AA, use W as quickly as you can after the AA finishes then continue to AA.
- AA + Q + AA: The most common trading tactic is to AA then Q as soon as the animation finishes, then AA again.
- AA + W + AA + Q: For a quicker trade AA then instantly W to reset your AA and Q.
- AA + W + AA + Q + AA + AA: In longer trades AA then instantly W, AA again then Q instantly followed by more AA's.
- AA + W + Q + AA + Flash + AA: then instantly W Q, AA and Flash to reposition so the Q hits your target on the way back. Continue to AA.
- R + Q + Flash + AA + W + AA + AA: R then Q your target at max range so you double hit the damage. Flash right before the Q lands and instantly AA W, then continue auto attacking.
Game Plan
Early game
- Play safe for the first few levels. You need time to come online and you shouldn’t be fighting unless you have a clear early advantage.
- Constantly push and poke the enemy with your abilities. Once they’re low, you can look for an aggressive all-in. However, while kills are nice, your goal is to poke and not commit to fights.
- After destroying the bottom lane tower, rotate to the mid lane and try to take that tower. This will open up the map and give your team a gold lead.
- Her early game is decent as she can waveclear pretty quickly and deal a lot of damage with her Boomerang Blade Q.
- Level 6 is a massive spike as it now allows her to enable her team to collapse on targets. It also allows her to run away from threats.
- The first item component will allow Sivir to deal more damage and maintain lane priority by pushing the wave infrequently.
Mid game
- Try and stick with your Support throughout the mid-game. You’re quite vulnerable and easy to kill if you’re on your own. By staying with your Support, your survivability will increase.
- Continue picking up farm in the side lanes when no team fights are occurring, but spend as little time away from your team. You need gold and XP to buy items and if you fall behind, it will be unlikely that you’ll be able to dish out damage in fights.
- Look for picks with your Support/Jungler to get kills and increase your lead. If you kill a key target, you could make the call for Baron.
- Multiple points in her Ultimate On The Hunt R will just enable her to help her team pick off-targets. Other than that, she can also use it defensively.
- Her mid-game potential is quite strong as she can secure picks and gain mid-priority when possible. It translates into neutral objectives.
- Her first ability will be maxed out at level nine, allowing her to deal out much damage. The wave clearing will let her pressurize the enemy team really hard.
Late game
- Just like in the mid-game, you should stick with your Support throughout the later parts of the game. Do not go around the map alone as you will die easily.
- Do not play super aggressive in team fights. Just kite and auto-attack the nearest enemy champion. If you walk too far forward, the enemy will focus you and take you down.
- Continue to kite in team fights and consistently adapt your positioning. Avoid standing still in fights as you’ll be an easy target.
- The final point in her Ultimate On The Hunt R will secure more picks in the later parts of the game. The goal is to ensure a pick on the enemy Support or Jungler and get a neutral objective after that.
- Her overall damage will be really high during this phase of the game. She will be pretty safe due to her Spell Shield E and Ultimate On The Hunt R.
- Her Boomerang Blade Q and Ricochet W will be maxed out now. She will be able to dish out a lot of damage in clumped fights and will be able to push waves quickly.
Conclusion
Sivir’s combination of wave clear, survivability, and team utility makes her a valuable asset in any League of Legends match. While she requires careful positioning and smart ability usage to maximize her potential, her late-game scaling and team-oriented playstyle make her a rewarding champion to master. By understanding her strengths, addressing her weaknesses, and implementing effective strategies, you can harness Sivir’s power to lead your team to victory. Whether you’re clearing waves or initiating a game-changing engage, Sivir’s versatility ensures she remains a top-tier pick for players who value consistency and team synergy.
