Vel'Koz Tips And Tricks
- Use your Plasma Fission (Q) to poke the enemy laner down as much as possible and then push the wave with your Void Rift (W). Bonus points if you can push and poke the enemy at the same time.
- Try to delay a team fight for as long as possible while you poke the enemy down with your Plasma Fission (Q) and Void Rift (W).
- Your Ultimate Life Form Disintegration Ray (R) is a channel which leaves you vulnerable. Try to use your Ultimate Life Form Disintegration Ray (R) from a distance and in a safe position to avoid dying.
Vel'Koz Strengths & Weaknesses
- Strengths
- His poke damage is quite high and obnoxious for the enemy team to deal with. This poke can build up over time and makes it so that the enemy laner is forced to play in the cover of their minion wave.
- His wave clearing potential is very high due to his Void Rift (W) and Plasma Fission (Q). This allows him to clear up the waves pretty quickly and get lane priority, which allows him to help his team secure objectives.
- Excels in fights taking place in chokepoints and close quarters as it allows him to quickly stack up his Passive. This combined with his Ultimate Life Form Disintegration Ray (R) can easily allow him to destroy the enemy team.
- Weaknesses
- Very immobile and hence is vulnerable to layered crowd control. He can’t push up freely unless he already knows where the enemy Jungler is, otherwise, he will just be killed.
- His Tectonic Disruption (E) is his only source of self-peel. Misusing it makes him way more vulnerable to all-ins and can probably get him killed almost instantly if the enemy laner has some form of blink or ranged crowd control ability.
- His Ultimate Life Form Disintegration Ray (R) roots him in place, making it very easy for enemy champions with ranged crowd control to interrupt his Ultimate Life Form Disintegration Ray (R) and get on top of him along with their team.

How to Play Vel'Koz Support
- Early game
- Harass the enemy throughout the laning phase with your Void Rift (W) and Plasma Fission (Q). Your goal is to constantly harass the enemy whenever possible and get kills.
- After destroying the bottom lane tower, rotate to the mid lane and try to take that tower. This will open up the map and give your team a gold lead. Poke and harass the enemy Mid laner and force them away from the objective to make it easier to secure the mid lane tower.
- Whenever your Ultimate Life Form Disintegration Ray (R) is up, try to use it on the enemy lakers to get their health low. Ideally, poke them down first before using it to make it easier for you to kill the enemy.
- Mid game
- Try to delay team fights for as long as possible while you harass the enemy and poke them down with your Plasma Fission (Q). If you can get them low, then you can commit to the team fight.
- Keep a constant eye on what major objective is spawning next. If it’s spawning soon, make sure you place vision around the objective as quickly and as safely as possible before retreating to safety. Having vision around major objectives is key.
- As a Support, you’re quite vulnerable and can easily be killed when going to ward, when you’re moving around the map, and when you’re alone. To reduce the chances of dying and getting caught out of position, try and stick with your team at all times.
- Late game
- Ward major objectives and place vision in high traffic areas in the late stages of the game. Keep them warded so you can see the enemy move around the map and see them starting the objective.
- Stay with your team at all times. Avoid moving around the map alone so you do not get caught out. Getting caught out will result in your team having to play 4v5. Do not ward alone unless you know where the enemy is.
- Peel for your allies as much as possible. Keeping them alive for as long as possible in team fights is a must in order to win the game.
