Win Conditions
- Use your Q and W to poke the enemy out of lane. Use your E to set up your Jungler when the enemy is low enough.
- Delay a team fight for as long as possible while you aim to poke the enemy with your abilities. Fight when the enemy is low.
- As your R is rather long ranged, keep an eye on the minimap at all times and be prepared to reposition and help other lanes with your R.
Weak Against
- Bard: Bard's sustain and mobility allow him to dodge Xerath's skill shots effectively. Bard can heal himself and his ADC using his W and his E provides him with a quick escape route or engage opportunity.
- Maokai: Maokai's tankiness and sustain make it difficult for Xerath to poke him down effectively. Maokai's passive also allows gives him HP during trades, which can make it hard for Xer to poke him.
- Janna: Janna's ability to shield her ADC with her E and her crowd control with her Q and R can mitigate Xerath's poke and keep her ADC healthy.
Strong Against
- Swain: Swain's short range and reliance on landing his E and W to engage make him an easy target for Xerath's long-range poke.
- Brand: Brand's lack of mobility makes him vulnerable to Xerath's skill shots. Xerath can poke Brand down from range and avoid his skill shots.
- Seraphine: Seraphine's predictable movement while casting her abilities makes her an easy target for Xerath's skill shots. Xerath can poke Seraphine from a distance and punish her for mispositioning.

Game Strategy
- Early Game: In the early game, Xerath should focus on poking enemies with his Q while maintaining a safe distance. Use your W to zone and your E for crowd control. Prioritize vision control, maintain bush control, and provide lane pressure, punishing enemies who misposition with your long-range abilities.
- Mid Game: During the mid game, Xerath becomes a potent poke and pick champion. Continue to poke enemies and clear waves with your long-range abilities. Use your W to provide vision, control objectives, and assist in picks.
- Late Game: In the late game, Xerath excels at siege and zone control. Utilize your long-range abilities to poke enemies and wave clear from a safe distance. Use your W and R to control vision around objectives and catch enemies out of position. Properly timed ultimates and strategic vision control can secure victories in late-game team fights and help your team secure game-changing objectives.
