God Introduction

Ares is a great support in smite 2. He brings Early Game Pressure, Tons of Damage, and a Great teamfight Ult.

Ares has had some reworks done in Smite 2, This makes him a much more valiable pick compaired to his previous ability kit in smite 1.

His primary strengths lie with his High Damage Output, Crowd Control, Team Displacement, and Early Game Pressure

Ability - Passive

Passive: Blessed Armaments

Provide Strength and Intelligence in an Aura. Build Protection to increase Strength Aura Build Cooldown Rate to increase Intelligence Aura Both Auras increase with Level.

Stats:

Intelligence & Strength: 1 per Level

Strength: 12.5% of Protections from Items

Intelligence: 100% of Cooldown rate

Basic Attack - Melee

Ares has a 4 hit melee chain, in which deals damage in the order in order of 1 , 0.75, 1, 1.25x damage and swing time respectivly.

Stats:

DAMAGE SCALING: 100% Strength + 20% Intelligence

Range: 1.92 Meters

Cone Angle: 120 degrees

Ability 1 - Shackles

Ares fires a Shackle projectile that deals Magical Damage and** Slows**.

  • You can refire after hitting an enemy god
  • Three Shackles may be out at one time
  • Shackled gods take repeating Magical Damage and are Crippled
  • his projectile passes through and damages non-god enemites, and passes through walls. It stops on gods.
  • Movement Speed buff stacks for each uniquely shackled god.

You have 2 seconds to fire another Shackle after successfully hitting an enemey god.

Initial Damage: 30 / 55 / 80 / 105 / 130

Initial Damage Scaling: 30% Strength

Damage Per Tick: 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100

Slow: 15%

Slow Duration : 4s

Cripple Duration: 4s

Movement Speed Per Buff: 15%

Range: 8.8 Meters

Radius: 2.4 Meters

Cooldown: 15 Seconds

Mana Cost Per Rank: 70 / 75 / 80 / 100

Ability 2 - Call to Arms

Ares slams his shield and gives You and nearby allied gods Magical and **Physical Protections ** and Basic Attack Damage

  • Damaging enemy gods increases the duration and effect of this buff

STATS:

The buff is** extended** by 4 seconds after hitting an enemy god ** 3** times (This only occures once)

Physical Protections Per Rank: 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30

Magical Protections Per Rank: 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30

Basic Attack Damage Per Rank: 8 / 12 / 16 / 20 / 24

Buff Duration: 6s

Radius: 5 Meters

Cooldown: 15 Seconds

Mana Cost Per Rank: 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60

Ability 3 - Searing Flesh

Flames pour from Ares' shield, dealing Magical Damage repeatedly to enemies in front of you.

  • This is a Channeled ability, but you can fire Shackles
  • Deals bonus damage based on the enemies' maximum Health
  • You are Displacement Immune while Channeling
  • You can fire your Shackles ability while channeling this ability, but no other attacks.

STATS:

Damage Per Tick: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35

Damage Scaling per Tick: 7% Intelligence + 1 / 1 / 2 / 2 / 3% Max Health

Minion Damage Per Tick: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35

Minion Damage Scaling Per Tick: 7% Intelligence + 4% Max Health

Range: 5.6m

Cone Angle: 45 Degrees

Cooldown At All Ranks: 12 Seconds

Mana CostPer Rank: 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 / 75

Ultimate - No Escape

Ares Attaches a chain to nearby gods, then pulls the gods towards himself, and finally Stunning enemies around you.

  • Deal Magical Damage when Chains attach
  • Deal Magical Damage to nearby enemies while Stunning
  • You are CC Immune and gain Damage Mitigation while using this ability.

STATS:

Channel lasts 2.5 seconds. Enemy gods are Displaced toward you after 2.17 seconds of channeling

Initial Damage Per Rank: 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 / 140

Initial Damage Scaling: 30% Strength

Final Damage : 200 / 275 / 350 / 425 / 500

Final Damage Scaling: 60% Strength

Stun Duration : 0.75 Seconds

Damage Mitigation: 20% / 22.5% / 25% / 27.5% / 30%

Gameplay Introduction

Ares has great synergy with the Blink Relic

Aggressivly Chaining to stop dashes and create early pressure is what ares is all about. Make sure to keep track of enemy Beads Timers to make sure you are using your ults on enemies whos beads are down. or ulting them after you ulted the same target last time.

If you ares ult into Hecate ult they will teleport.
