God Introduction

Merlin is a high Damage Mage in Smite 2. He fills the role of Mid laner very well and brings dynamic elements to any teamfight. His ability to switch stances gives him high Versatility, High Burst, and High Utility.

In a general game, Merlin will try to poke and start damage with at long range with his Arcane stance, then he will switch to Fire stance for its high tick damage and Protection shred, and Lastly he will use the Slows in Ice stance to stop enemies from fleeing.

Passive - Overload

Using an ability provides 1 stack of Overload. Firing a basic attack consumes 1 stack of Overload and deals Magical Damage to enemies hit.

The damage from this ability can trigger ability item effects.

  • Max Stacks: 3

  • Buff Duration: 5 seconds

God Aspect: Aspect of Pandemonium

Elemental Mastery has a reduced cooldown and each time it is used, a random Stance is selected with 2 random primary abilities, Flicker will always persist. Using Elemental Mastery provides an Intelligence buff for a short duration.

Basic Attack - Ranged

Merlin fires a projectile that deals Magic Damage to the first enemy hit.

This projectile stops on the first target hit, and does not pass through walls.

  • Damage Scaling: 100% Strength + 20% Intelligence + 100% Basic Attack Power

  • Range:8.8 meters

  • Radius: 0.48 meters

Ability 1 - Eclipse / Radiate / Frostbolt

Depending on his selected Elemental Mastery, Merlin can cycle between three sets of abilites. In Arcane stance, he gains the Eclipse ability, in Fire stance he gains the Radiate ability, and in Ice stance he gains the Frostbolt ability.

Eclipse:

Conjure a celestial orb that grows in size as it travels, dealing Magical Damage repeatedly to enemies in an area and marking them.

  • Marked enemies take additional Magical Damage if they stay within the outer range of Eclipse.

  • Marked enemies tank damage every 0.4 seconds while within the outer range of Eclipse.

  • Damage per Rank: 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120

  • Damage Scaling per Rank: 55% Intelligence

  • Damage per Tick: 5 / 15 / 25 / 35 / 45

  • Damage Scaling per Tick: 8% Intelligence

  • Range: 9.6 meters

  • Radius: 0.8 meters

  • Final Radius: 2.4 meters

  • Cooldown per Rank: 14 seconds

  • Cost per Rank: 60

Radiate:

Channels a beam of intense fire for 2 seconds that deals Magical Damage every 0.25 seconds.

  • Each time Radiate hits an enemy, it also applies a Burn, dealing additional Magical Damage over time.

  • Burn does damage ever 0.5 seconds for 2 seconds.

  • Damage per Rank: 8 / 14 / 20 / 26 / 32

  • Damage Scaling per Rank: 18% Intelligence

  • Damage Per Tick: 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20

  • Damage Scaling Per Tick: 4% Intelligence

  • Range: 7.2 meters

  • Radius: 0.8 meters

  • Cooldown per Rank: 14 / 13.5 / 13 / 12.5 / 12 seconds

  • Cost per Rank: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80

Frostbolt:

Fire a Frostbolt that explodes when it hits an enemy, dealing Magical Damage in a small area.

  • This ability deals an additional 15% damage if the enemy hit is slowed.

  • Projectile stops on walls.

  • Damage per Rank: 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200

  • Damage Scaling per Rank: 55% Intelligence

  • Range: 11.2 meters

  • Radius: 0.64 meters

  • Explode Radius: 3.2 meters

  • Cooldown per Rank: 6 seconds

  • Cost per Rank: 60

Ability 2 - Vortex / Dragonfire / Blizzard

Depending on his selected Elemental Mastery, Merlin can cycle between three sets of abilites. In Arcane stance, he gains the Vortex ability, in Fire stance he gains the Dragonfire ability, and in Ice stance he gains the Blizzard ability.

Vortex:

Deploy a field of arcane energy. After a delay, the Vortex deals Magical Damage and Pulls enemies towards the center.

  • Damage per Rank: 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170

  • Damage Scaling: 60% Intelligence

  • Range: 9.6 meters

  • Radius: 3.2 meters

  • Cooldown: 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 seconds

  • Cost per Rank: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80

Dragonfire:

You summon forth two ethereal dragons that deal Magical Damage to enemies every 0.25 seconds.

  • If caught in the center of the area, enemies are afflicted by the Radiate Burn and gods have their Protections reduced.

  • The dragons persist for 3 seconds.

  • Damage per Rank: 8 / 11 / 14 / 17 / 20

  • Damage Scaling: 15% Intelligence

  • Protections Reduced: 4% Per Stack

  • Max Debuff Stacks: 4

  • Range: 8 meters

  • Cone Angle: 80 degrees

  • Cooldown: 19 / 18.5 / 18 / 17.5 / 17 seconds

  • Cost per Rank: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80

Blizzard:

Create a Blizzard, dealing Magical Damage repeatedly to enemies in an area.

  • Enemies hit are debuffed with a stacking Slow.

  • This ability hits 8 times over 4 seconds.

  • Damage per Rank: 10 / 25 / 40 / 55 / 70

  • Damage Scaling: 15% Intelligence

  • Slow: 8% Per Stack

  • Max Debuff Stacks: 5

  • Slow Duration: 2 seconds

  • Range: 8.8 meters

  • Radius: 3.2 meters

  • Cooldown: 6 seconds

  • Cost per Rank: 60

Ability 3 - Flicker

Merlin quickly Teleports a short distance. Depending on your current Stance, you gain different effects when using this ability.

  • Arcane: Heal 30% of the damage taken within the last 4 seconds
  • Fire: For a short duration, your basic attacks apply the Radiate debuff effect to enemies hit
  • Ice: Ability Cooldowns are reduced 5 seconds.

------ Stats ------

  • Range: 4.8 meters

  • Cooldown: 24 / 23 / 22 / 21 / 20 seconds

  • Cost: 70

Ultimate - Elemental Mastery

Tap into your inner potential, exploding with energy in your current stance dealing Magical Damage to enemies hit.

  • After the explosion reaches its apex, it collapses in on itself dealing Magical Damgae again.
  • Enemies suffer different effects depending on which stance's energy they are being hit by.

During the explosion time, you can shoose which stance to enter into next.

  • Arcane: Enemies hit are Knocked Up
  • Fire: Enemies hit are afflicted with Radiate Burn
  • Ice: Enemies hit are Slowed

  • Damage per Rank: 0 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 210

  • Damage Scaling: 15% Intelligence

  • Slow: 0 / 20 / 20 / 20 / 20 / 20%

  • Stun Duration: 0 / 2 / 2 / 2 / 2 / 2 seconds

  • Radius: 4 meters

  • Cooldown per Rank: 30 / 30 / 27.5 / 25 / 22.5 / 20 seconds

  • Cost: 40 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80
