Guide to Playing the Spirit Comp in TFT Set 4.5
- The Strength of the Comp
This comp utilizes a Spirit Chosen to turn Teemo into the primary carry, causing enemies to be constantly blinded by his ability. After casting their abilities for the first time, Spirit champions grant an attack speed boost to all allies. Teemo, in particular, can cast his ability multiple times, reducing incoming damage and compensating for the lack of frontline defense, which only features Aatrox and Sejuani.
Play this comp when you find a Spirit Chosen, ideally Chosen Teemo, to make upgrading Teemo to 3 stars easier. Prioritize energy and ability power items for Teemo.
- Champion List for the Spirit Comp
- Aatrox (Vanguard + Keeper) – Primary frontline with crowd control and durability.
- Azir (Keeper + Emperor) – Provides additional frontline with his Sand Soldiers and utility through his abilities.
- Diana (Spirit + Assassin) – Burst damage and crowd control with her orbs.
- Pyke (Cultist + Assassin) – Offers mobility, crowd control, and supplementary damage.
- Sivir (Cultist + Sharpshooter) – Provides consistent DPS and activates traits like Sharpshooter or Cultist.
- Sejuani (Vanguard + Brawler) – Strong tank with a reliable AoE stun for crowd control.
- Teemo (Spirit + Sharpshooter) – Primary carry, dealing consistent AoE damage while applying blinds.
- Yuumi (Spirit + Mystic) – Heals and shields key units, boosting survivability.
Activated Traits: 4 Spirit, 3 Cultist, 2 Vanguard, 2 Assassin, 2 Sharpshooter, 1 Emperor.
Early game
In the early game, you can start with Cultist and Assassin. Since the comp includes Assassins, obtaining Pyke and Diana early will help you gain an advantage and activate the trait quickly.
When playing this comp, you need to level up early to reach the late game as fast as possible. Level up to Level 4 early if you want to start a winning streak. Then, level up to Level 5 to maintain the streak.
Mid game
In the mid-game, once you have Diana, start looking for the remaining Spirit champions, Teemo and Yuumi. You’ll need a Spirit Chosen to activate the highest level of the Spirit trait. Combine Sivir with Teemo to activate the Sharpshooter trait.
Level up to Level 6 by round 3-2 and gather your strongest possible team. At this point, your comp may lack frontline tanks, so you’ll need to recruit a Vanguard to strengthen your defense. If you're lucky, you may find Aatrox or Sejuani early.
Late game
In the late game, when you reach Level 7, recruit the Vanguard duo, Aatrox and Sejuani, if you haven’t already acquired them. This duo works very well together, with Aatrox pulling ranged enemies in close, and Sejuani following up with a stunning AoE attack.
Next, level up to Level 8 and complete your comp with Azir. It’s clear that Azir is an independent champion and does not activate any other traits. Therefore, you can swap him out for another 5-cost champion if needed and still maintain a strong comp.
Tips and Advice
For the final position in your comp, Zilean is an excellent choice. He activates the Cultist trait with Aatrox and Sivir, while also activating Mystic with Yuumi. This is a much better option compared to Azir, as Zilean’s ability gives your team an extra life, potentially turning the tide of battle. However, the trade-off is the loss of damage output, crowd control, and the absence of the Sand Soldiers that Azir provides.
Conclusion
The Spirit comp in TFT Set 4.5 is one of the popular team compositions as the game transitions into the new season. Spirit synergizes well with other traits such as Sharpshooter, Slayer, and Mystic, which provide a solid defensive foundation. What do you think about this comp?
