👌 Intro
This Wednesday, Nov 20th, begins the new TFT Set 13: "Into the Arcane". And this game usually gets biweekly balance updates, sometimes weekly with the B patches, to make sure the game is properly balanced and the meta varies. Nonetheless, since this set is coming out at the end of the year, the situation is a bit different.
☝️🤓 Patch Schedule
As you can see in the patch schedule for the remainder of this year, these will be substantially longer than usual; because, in those time frames, there's break periods for the Riot employees.
Thus, if we don't count the possibility of a B patch to fix something that absolutely breaks the game (not some small balance issue, something BIG) that FORCES the Rioters to interrupt their break to fix it, we'll have a 3-week first patch, followed by a 5-week second patch of the Set.
🤔 But... why is this relevant?
Great question! And the answer's quite simple: because we're entirely subjected to how good of a job the TFT devs do. If any of these two patches is particularly unbalanced, we'll have to deal with said unbalanced meta for the entire, longer duration of the patch.
With this in mind, if this were to happen, I'll probably post another article with my best tips to deal with a patch like that~
I just thought it'd be a good idea to post this information asap, that way we can all "mentally prepare" ourselves, if what I fear actually ends up happening. Let's also keep in mind that, when these longer patches happen, Riot tends to assign the very best team to work on said patch, to make it as balanced and stable as possible.
Cheers! And I genuinely wish you all success in this upcoming Set 13.
