You want to play Set 11?
So you created a new PBE account and want to try out Set 11 yourself, but now you are suddenly confronted with a queue that takes several hours? Does the client tell you that you can login in only a few minutes, only for it to suddenly shift and now it takes forever again?
This is not random, but in fact the intended system on how Riot deals with the entire playerbase storming the PBE Server to try out the new Set. However, you don't need to be discouraged, in this guide I will teach you multiple tricks on how to play Set 11.

How the queue actually works
First up you have to visualize how the queue system for the PBE Server works. Whenever there is an extremely high amount of players trying to get on the server, it will stop letting in players based on their position in queue and resort to a different system instead.
You should not think of it as a list where the player in position 1 will get a spot on the PBE server once there is space. Instead you should think of it as multiple players being crammed into a train wagon. The entire queue is made up of a train driving in a circle over and over.
When you queue up, you are put into a wagon with others and once it reaches the station the server checks if it has enough capacity for everyone. If this is the case, then the doors open, you can leave the train and join the server.
If this is not the case, then the doors of your wagon won’t open and the train continues to drive in a circle. In this specific case you are now exactly at the end of the queue, which is why you will see your queue timer reset, even though the client said that the approximate wait time is less than a minute.

Maximize your chances with Multi Queue
While you can’t actually beat the system, you can maximize your chances. Create a copy of your League Client and right click on properties. Here you want to add the following line in the target tab: --allow-multiple-clients
This allows you to run multiple clients at once. Now you can’t actually use this method to start more than a single game, as your client will not be able to reach the loading screen, but this method is still very useful to deal with the PBE queues.
Going back to the train example, you can use this method to log in with small delays of 5 or 10 minutes with multiple accounts. This will put each account in a separate wagon and therefore maximize your chances of the doors opening and you reaching the station.
One important aspect I should mention is that the multi client is NOT able to patch. This means every time there is a patch on the PBE server you need to login with your normal client to download and install the patch first. Keep this in mind since otherwise you might be playing on an old version, so there will be no opponents for matchmaking and your queue to find a game will go on forever!
Use Mortdog Discord
Another very good method to bypass the queues is to utilize the patch cycles. Especially at the beginning and during the week you can expect daily patches at around 20:00 - 21:00 CET. These patches force every off the server, which means when the server is back, it will be empty and there won't be queue at all.
You can join Mortdog’s Discord here: https://discord.gg/mortdog
Get the role for “PBE is online notifications”. This will ping you everytime the PBE is back after a patch cycle, which allows you to bypass the entire queue if you are fast enough.

Bonus Tip
If you managed to get in but the play button is greyed out and you can't queue for anything, simply start a custom for league of legends and quit during the champion select. This will fix the bug and you can now queue up normal for TFT.
Also you can expect the queue times to go down considerably after the first week once the initial storm has settled and the queue times should normalize. I hope one of the tricks in this guide will help you to experience Set 11 for yourself!
