Introduction
If you've played several games of TFT on set 12, you probably noticed there are MANY reroll compositions. Syndra can be played in four different set-ups, there's Zoe + Arcana, there's Jinx/Kog, there's Kassadin.
But there are ways to play around them, if you want not to be contested and risk hitting your champions after your rivals. Today, we'll see about Portal, a very easy trait to put at a high rank. Indeed, even without any emblem, you can naturally get 8 Portal, assuming you hit Norra & Yuumi.
Late game comp (lvl 9)

Portal is a very strong trait if you can play it early, the portal, though random, can really help a lot during fights, either by throwing bombs on clumps of enemies, buffing your units' attack speed or even spawning Krugs.
In mid-game, you can bring in Neeko to support Jayce and Zoe, and Rumble to support Galio and Ezreal, while you're gathering 6 Portal units. As you go up in levels, you'll want to make sure to have Mage turned on, because even with the AP malus, it makes Norra much, much stronger. Diana is also a very nice addition, as Bastion will make the whole team slightly more resistant, which is good with the shield from the Portal trait.
Eventually, if you can go all the way to level 10, Chrono is probably the best trait you can bring in, since it will heal 20% of your units' health when the Chrono timer goes down to 0.
Good augments to play the comp with

Basically, you'll want one of these, either to kick up your economy, or to empower your units over some time, since the shield from the Portal trait will give them some time to scale.
Afterwards, you'll want more combat-oriented augments, such as Unified Resistance which will make the shield harder to bring down.
This comp being quite straight-forward, there's no real subtility behind it, you'll really want to focus on getting to level 8 to get decent chances of getting Norra & Yuumi as well as hit Ryze and Taric 2, then level 9 to bring in a Mage (preferrably Vex, but Nami will do the trick in the meantime).
Portal works especially well when you've got a headstart, and doesn't perform as well when chosen as a comeback composition, so keep that in mind when you're considering which composition to aim for.
I haven't really written guides in the last few patches of set 11, which I kinda gave up on, but this new set inspires me more (quite ironic given how many rerolls are trendy right now). I'll try to write guides on some original comps rather than reroll ones, as I'm sure many people will already talk about them.
Tacter now allows comments and follows, so consider commenting this guide to give your impressions and suggest improvements, either on this guide or for those in the future, and if you've enjoyed the ones I've written in the past, feel free to follow to see when the next guide will be up.
