FULL COMP (lvl 8)

Example of a powerful board at lvl 8
DESCRIPTION
Aphelios is one of the strongest late game AD carry with an extremely high DPS capacity. This is why the team is designed around him to empower his damage with Deadeye or to simply stall time with Freljord and Targon.
Overall, this comp is playable in a fast 8 strategy and it requires you to save a good amount of HP during the game while also maintaining a healthy economy to be able to buy EXP and buy the expensive units. More on the fast 8 strategy below!
LEGENDS
TWISTED FATE: His augments at 2-1 (Pandora Box) allows you to always have the perfect items. Aphelios is greatly item dependent and he requires the best combo to have the maximum damage output. Also TF's augments at stage 4-2 give you Zeke's which could be a great item to put next to Aphelios
PORO: By not picking any legend augment, you increase your odds of gaining the perfect augment to make your comp even stronger. To truly dominate the fights with Aphelios, you would prefer to have 3 combat augments that strenghten your team and you would prefer to avoid picking economic augment.
AUGMENTS
A Cut Above: Gain a Deathblade. Champions holding Deathblade have a 50% chance to drop 1 gold on kill.
Freljord Crest / Heart / Crown: Allows you to unlock 4 Freljord in this comp
Healing Orb: When an enemy dies, the nearest allied unit is healed
Long Distance Pals: Your two furthest units form a bond, sharing a % of their Armor, Magic Resist, Attack Damage, and Ability Power with each other (really good to bon Sion and Aphelios => Aphelios is tanky and Sion will punch very hard)
Pandora's Items from Twisted Fate
EARLY GAME (Board lvl 5)

During the 2nd stage of the game, you will try to play strong board to create a significant win streak, gain more gold and save more HP. It means that you will usually push lvl 4 at stage 2-1 and push lvl 5 at stage 2-5. You will also complete your items such as Infinity Edge, or Warmog, and play around your 2 star units. Remember that if you can't find any 2 star units or if you can complete your items then it is not recommended to play strong board and push aggressively because you will most likely lose fights.
TL;DR
- Push lvl 4 at 2-1
- Play around your 2 star units and completed items
- Push lvl 5 at 2-5
- Try to get the longest win streak possible
MID GAME (Board lvl 7)

During Stage 3 you will push lvl 6 at stage 3-2 or stage 3-1 if you are already in a big winstreak. Ideally you fit one Lissandra to activate Freljord but you would prefer to avoid refreshing your shop unless you have 3 or more pair of units. In that case, you want to roll a couple of times (not too much) to star-up some key units and maintain your winstreak. Then, depending on how much gold you have, you want to push lvl 7 at 3-5 or 4-1 and roll enough gold to get the board above. Don't expect to find all the 4 cost units, and certainly don't expect to have them at 2 star easily. This is why you should make sure you have at least 30 gold left after pushing lvl 7, if that's not the case then be more patient and push during Stage 4.
TL;DR
- Push lvl 6 at 3-2
- Roll only if you have more than 3 pair of units
- Push at lvl 7 at 3-5 or 4-1 (only if you have 30g left after pushing)
- Roll for Aphelios, Sejuani, Urgot (don't expect them to have it at 2 star)
- Stop rolling if you find them or if you are winning with your current board
LATE GAME (lvl 8 and more)
Once you stabilized your board at lvl 7, you can rebuild your economy and save your gold to push lvl 8 where you will have the most chance to find your 2 star units (Aphelios, Urgot, Sejuani) and Sion.
Stabilizing a board: It means you have invested your gold (exp and shop refreshes) to make a stronger board that is strong enough to win the following fights, or at least to avoid nasty losses
Once you are level 8 and found all your units, except Sion, at 2 stars then you can try to rebuild your econ again to reach lvl 9 and add another late game unit (such as Aatrox, Ryze or Ksante for instance) and close the game with an extremely powerful late game comp.
