Introduction

Today, Riot Games has released update version 14.24 with many major changes that will impact gameplay. You can check it out here! Teamfight Tactics patch 14.24 notes

With many significant changes in version 14.24, such as buffing several 4-cost champions, the introduction of three 6-cost champions, and changes to the roll anomaly, rerolling has become more difficult, and 4-cost champions are now much stronger.

Why is 4 Gold meta?

4 Gold champions are now very strong in the current meta due to recent buffs and changes in version 14.24. These champions offer high value and can significantly impact the outcome of the game, making them a central part of many successful strategies. With the increased power of 4-cost units, they become reliable picks for building a strong team mid to late game.

Fast 8 gameplay, with the goal of finding 4-cost champions that can be either carries or tanks, allows for easier selection of Anomaly mechanics compared to playing reroll compositions. For example, Ambessa has Anomalies like Titanic Strikes, One Thousand Cuts, Knockout, Invisibility, Center of the Universe, Attack Expert, and Brutal Claws.

If you have Emblems when playing 4-cost compositions, it becomes easier to play, such as with the 7 Rebel setup featuring Zoe and Illaoi.

Next, I will introduce two 4-cost compositions that don’t rely too much on Emblems:

The power of a 1-star 6-cost champion is equivalent to a 2-star 4-cost champion. Viktor > Mel > Warwick, Warwick is only strong in the Experiment composit hoặc Augment "Anger Issues".

ANOMALY RULES:

  • Flexibility and adaptability are core components of skill expression in TFT. Being able to make the best of a pretty good Anomaly is something we’d like to see rather than rolling for a specific Anomaly, which results in less game-to-game variance and feels bad when you don’t hit within the amount of gold you have or barely manage to hit after spending all the gold that you were saving for going Level 9. As a reminder, Anomalies are slightly optimized to fit your current board state, so you will still see ones that make sense early in your rolls.
  • Players will now be able to see repeats when they roll for Anomalies, but never the same one back to back.

With the changes to the ANOMALY RULES, it's harder to roll for the anomalies you want. For example, Violet as a carry in the Family composition with Ultimate Hero now has a 3-turn delay before the unit becomes 4-star.

Unless you're extremely lucky in rounds 4-6 to get the anomalies you want, otherwise, you'll be out of the lobby early.

For example, Renni as a carry in the Fighter composition, You have the Artifact: Talisman of Ascension and the Anomaly: Dramatic Entrance. If you have both of these conditions, you’re guaranteed to have an excellent match.
