How to Play Divinicorp — TFT Set 14: Cyber City

Divinicorp is one of the more fun traits in the game as it is so splashable in just about anything. We have seen similar traits to it before in the form of Divine as well as Guild.

This trait allows the player to splash additional ability power, attack damage, armor, magic resistance, health, critical strike chance, attack speed, and even omnivamp. You can pick and choose whatever you want to add to your comp with these units. In some cases, this trait may become a vertical that then buffs one or two main carries on top of it.

Divinicorp Synergy

Here are the additional traits of the Divinicorp champions that give the opportunity to create trait webs:

Morgana (1G) – Dynamo Rhaast (2G) – Vanguard Gragas (3G) – Bruiser Senna (3G) – Slayer Vex (4G) – Executioner Renekton (5G) – Bastion

The Divinicorp Trait

Divinicorp trait has a lot of options. In the past we have had Divine and Guild which have played out similarly in the past. There is often a unit or two that are really strong that get splashed into comps. I expect it to be Gragas and Renekton in this iteration of the trait.

This is due to Gragas having the easily splashable Bruiser trait as well as giving health to his entire team. Renekton due to being a 5 cost Bastion that gives the team attack speed. I also would expect Morgana as she is a Dynamo and Dynamos give mana to the team which is often a strong, late game trait.

TFT Divinicorp Champions

Morgana (1G) – Dynamo

Morgana gives the team AP on top of having the Dynamo trait which gives teams mana. This will likely make her splashable in most AP comps. Morgana’s ability Short Circuit hacks the target and the nearest non-hacked enemy, dealing (AP) magic damage over 10 seconds.

Her ability is damage over time which means she is far from bursty. Her ability also doesn’t offer any additional utility. This is due to her utility packed into her traits and if she had much more utility she would be too strong and end on every board.

This makes it so Morgana does have a downside to her being a 1 cost Dynamo and Divinicorp. If she did have utility in her ability, she would easily become one of the most prized units in the new set. However, I expect her to still see plenty of blow due to her rock solid traits.

Rhaast (2G) – Vanguard

Rhaast’s ability Reaping Slash knocks the target into the air for 1.75 seconds. Over the duration he heals (AP & Health) and health and deals four (AD) physical damage to the target.

I like this ability as it does have a long knock up that can be lethal in the late game on the right unit especially if the knock up helps kill a unit before its cast.

Rhaast also gives a team Armor and Magic Resistance which is always useful. On top of being a tank through his Vanguard trait I expect him to make his way on most late game boards that are playing around Vanguard.

Gragas (3G) – Bruiser

Gragas is a bruiser who also gives his team additional health through the Divinicorp trait. His ability allows him to heal (Health & AP) health, then he throws a cask at the largest group of enemies within 3 hexes dealing (AP) magic damage to enemies within 1 hex. Once again, similar to Morgana his ability lacks utility and this is likely due to already having strong traits and utility through additional Health to the team.

Senna (3G) – Slayer

Senna gives her whole team Attack Damage through Divinicorp on top of getting additional AD from her Slayer trait. Senna has a passive and active ability. Her passive allows attacks to deal 0.33 (AD) physical damage to enemies adjacent to the target. Her active fires a beam two hexes beyond the current target dealing (AD) physical damage to enemies hit.

I like how senna isn’t a single target carry but is still able to gun down a single target. However, the fact that her active ability throws her beam past her current target this might split up her damage more than I would like. I would not be surprised if Senna reroll becomes a possibility with Slayer and some additional Divinicorps thrown in.

Vex (4G) – Executioner

Vex is an executioner with passive and active abilities. Vex’s passive is gain percent omnivamp and a percent of her overhealing from her ability Retribution’s damage is converted to bonus true damage to its primary target.

Her active sends a shadow to the target dealing (AP) magic damage to all enemies it that passes through. The shadow then explodes dealing additional AP magic damage to the target and AP damage to the enemies within one hex.

Vex reads as “big damage” as much as you can get. She will be a common 4 cost carry due to her damage as well as giving her team critical strike chance.

Renekton (5G) – Bastion

Renekton will end up being on a lot of boards for a few reasons. First, he is a 5 cost Bastion. On top of that he gives his team Attack Speed through his Divinicorp trait. His ability, Dominus, deals (AD & AP) physical damage to enemies within 2 hexes and burns and wounds them for 5 seconds. He then gains max health.

This is just the beginning of his ability but already he benefits from AP and AD which Divinicorp can provide him on top of offering utility through burn and wound.

Upon his first cast, he enters frenzy mode where attacks strike twice dealing (AD) total physical damage and he can dash to new targets.

On his second cast, his frenzy mode now strikes thrice dealing (AD) physical damage. However, he cannot cast again.

This will make Renekton be strong in early game fights and help push your team over the edge in combat through his utility to the team
