Conspiracy Theory: The Future of TFT Sets
The Context:
For some time now, we have been immersed in discussions about Set 13, coinciding with the premiere of the Arcane series. Speculation suggests that this new set will draw inspiration from the beloved lore and characters of Arcane.
The Idea of Set Revival:
There seems to be a trend of Set Revivals in TFT, much like those seen with Set 3.5 and Set 5.5. These mid-set updates have historically emerged after completing a full set cycle, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
- Past Examples:
- Set 3.5 was widely appreciated, arguably better than Set 3.
- Set 5.5 followed a similar pattern, with the transition from Shadow Items to Radiant Items receiving positive feedback.
The Potential for Set 6:
Based on past performances and community feedback, it’s likely we won't see a Set 6.5, especially considering the mixed reception of Set 6 (Gizmos & Gadgets). Instead, a shift toward Set 6 would seem more reasonable.
- Community Feedback: Riot has previously indicated that the continuation of a set (whether it remains as 5 or transitions to 5.5) hinges on player feedback gathered via platforms like Twitter.
The Future Outlook:
- Unless Riot Games surprises us with a simultaneous release of both Sets 6 and 6.5, or perhaps delays 6.5 for a later date, the expectation leans toward a robust Set 6.
Conclusion:
Ultimately, fans will likely appreciate this direction, allowing for new content while refining existing mechanics.
Disclaimer:
Remember, this is purely speculative and not officially confirmed, so take it with a grain of salt!
