You've probably thought about how you'd like to watch some Chinese players you've seen shine on the international stage. Whether it's Huanmie, the Chinese player with the most Worlds appearances, or Xunge and Liliuo, former world champions of TFT? Or simply because you've heard that China is ahead in the meta?

Look no further; this guide aims to teach you everything you need to navigate the streams and replays of our Chinese friends in TFT!

On the agenda: Douyu & Huya!
Happy reading!

DouYu : The reference point for CN streams

I - Navigate to the TFT section on the Douyu website

You will access all the TFT streams available on the platform here. However, you may encounter difficulties in finding the stream you are looking for. I recommend visiting Liquipedia TFT (https://liquipedia.net/tft/Main_Page) and searching for the player you wish to follow before clicking on the link to their stream, as demonstrated in the following example.

II - Use the Douyu player

You will notice that the Douyu player differs slightly from what you are accustomed to on YouTube or Twitch. Let’s go through the essential elements to ensure a comfortable viewing experience:

  • The full-screen button is located at the bottom right of the video, just like on Twitch.
  • The volume button is also in the same location.
  • To adjust the video quality, click on a button often marked with a number indicating the resolution (e.g., 1080p).
  • Douyu features a specific function called 'Danmu', which displays chat messages directly on the video. This can be disabled by pressing the round button to the right of the volume.

III - Create an account to watch in 1080p

Douyu will limit your HD viewing duration. To bypass this issue, you will need to create an account on the platform. Here are the steps to follow (illustration to follow) :

1 - On the homepage, look for the button shaped like a human silhouette or labeled 注册 (registration). This button is usually located at the top right of the page.

IV - Watch replays

To watch the replays of Chinese streamers, it's quite simple: go to the stream of the player you want and click on the camera icon in the top right corner of the chat (image to follow). This will take you to the replays page.

Huya : Also Known as Huanmie’s Streaming Hub for TFT

Other Chinese streaming platforms also host TFT players, but you won’t find the major names in the scene. In fact, the only Chinese player who streams regularly on this platform is Huanmie, who has a contract with them.
The platform operates very similarly to Douyu, so we will focus on how the player works and how to watch replays here, using Huanmie’s stream as an example.

I - Use the player

Similarly to Douyu, you will need an account to watch in high quality. The registration process is the same as on Douyu.

2 - Access the replays

Please note that not all replays may be available. Additionally, the live stream may operate 24/7 with replays of the last broadcast appearing as 'live' while the streamer is offline.
