Video Guide:
Introduction:
Vivian is an S-Rank Ether character who wields the Anomaly W-Engine Type. Vivian is an Anomaly off-field poison D.O.T. sub-D.P.S.
Kit:
Vivian’s basic attack consists of up to four forward strikes that deal both physical and ether damage. After the fourth strike, she enters the Grounded Unfurling state, and if she has Charge, holding Basic during that fourth strike transitions her into the Floating state.
While in the Grounded Unfurling state, pressing Basic initiates a forward dash that deals Ether Damage and restores one Charge, with invulnerability during the move. Perfect Dodge during the dash grants an extra charge, and holding Basic transitions into the Floating state. If Vivian switches to a teammate while in this state, she automatically follows up with this attack.
In the Floating state, pressing Basic or Special triggers a continuous forward attack that ends with a Blooming Strike, dealing massive Ether damage. This move consumes all Charge, with each Charge consumed launching an extra Blooming Strike that also grants an Enhance stack. The character remains invulnerable during the attack, and if Vivian switches to a teammate mid-state, the attack automatically follows up.
When a squad member lands an EX Special Attack, Vivian consumes one Enhance stack to execute a Blooming Strike against that enemy, dealing Ether damage—even when she's not the active Agent. Enhance can accumulate up to four stacks.
Special Attack: Activate by pressing Special to quickly move forward and strike, delivering both physical and ether damage. During the maneuver, Vivian’s anti-interrupt level is enhanced. If Vivian has a Charge, holding Special will transition her into the Floating state.
When enough energy is available, holding special triggers a powerful forward strike that deals massive Ether damage and restores two charge points. Vivian remains invulnerable during this attack and enters the Grounded Unfurling state afterwards. Holding special during the move transitions Vivian into the floating state.
When a Chain Attack is triggered, Vivian performs a powerful, invulnerable area attack that deals massive Ether damage and restores one Charge. After the attack, Vivian enters the floating state, which can be canceled by holding Evade.
When Decibel Rating is at maximum, using Vivian’s Ultimate launches a powerful, invulnerable area attack that deals massive Ether damage and restores four Charge. After the attack, Vivian enters the floating state, which can be canceled by holding Evade.
Vivian's Core Passive causes Blooming Strike to deal extra Attribute Anomaly damage—scaling with her Anomaly Proficiency—when it hits an enemy already affected by an Attribute Anomaly, including Ether, Electric, Fire, Physical, or Ice. This effect also poisons the target, dealing damage equal to fifty-five percent of her attack every zero point five five seconds and potentially triggering other on-hit effects. The poisoning ends when the enemy is no longer under an attribute Anomaly.
When a squadmate—either an Anomaly character or one sharing the Ether attribute—triggers an Attribute Anomaly, Vivian consumes one Enhance stack to launch a Blooming Strike against the target. Additionally, this ability boosts all teammates' Corruption damage and increases Disorder damage from removing Corruption by eighteen percent.
During a Perfect Dodge, pressing Basic initiates a Dodge Counter that attacks nearby enemies with physical and ether damage while making Vivian invulnerable. After the attack, Vivian enters the Grounded Unfurling state, and if she has Charge, holding Basic will shift her into the Floating state.
In the Grounded Unfurling state, when hit by an enemy attack, Vivian automatically dodges while becoming invulnerable. However, this does not count as a perfect dodge, and it can only occur once per grounded unfurling instance.
Ability Level Priority:
For Vivian’s ability level priority, first level her special attack, second level her chain attack, third level her basic attack, fourth level her dodge, and lastly level her assist.
Signature W-Engine:
Vivian's Signature W-Engine boosts her Anomaly Proficiency by ninety and her attack by seven hundred thirteen. Additionally, her Attribute Anomaly Buildup Rate is increased by forty percent. When she inflicts Ether Damage, her Anomaly Proficiency temporarily rises by twenty for five seconds. This bonus can stack up to six times and can be activated every zero point five seconds, with any subsequent activations refreshing the duration.
Recommended Endgame Stats:
For those aiming to optimize Vivian’s performance in endgame content, here's a breakdown of her recommended stats at level sixty. Attack should be three thousand one hundred, H.P. should be nine thousand seven hundred, defense should be eight hundred, Anomaly Mastery should be somewhere between one hundred fifty and one hundred ninety, and Anomaly Proficiency should be somewhere between three hundred fifty and four hundred fifty.
W-Engines:
An S-Rank W-Engine that Vivian can use is Fusion Compiler, Grace’s signature W-Engine. It boosts attack by twelve percent. When a Special Attack or EX Special Attack is used, Vivian gains twenty-five Anomaly Proficiency for eight seconds, stacking up to three times. Each stack's duration is tracked individually.
An A-Rank New Eridu City Fund Battle Pass W-Engine that Vivian can use is Electro-Lip Gloss. When enemies on the field are affected by Attribute Anomaly, Vivian gains a sixteen percent attack boost and deals twenty-five percent additional damage to the target.
A standard gacha A-Rank W-Engine that Vivian can use is Weeping Gemini. Whenever an ally inflicts an Attribute Anomaly on an enemy, Vivian receives a buff that increases Anomaly Proficiency by forty-six, stacking up to four times. This effect ends when the target recovers from Stun or is defeated, with each stack’s duration tracked independently.
An alternative standard gacha A-Rank W-Engine that Vivian can use is Rainforest Gourmet. For every ten energy consumed, Vivian gains a buff that boosts attack by four percent for ten seconds. This buff can stack up to ten times, with each stack's duration tracked individually.
A free-to-play B-Rank W-Engine that Vivian can use is Magnetic Storm Bravo. Accumulated Anomaly Buildup boosts Vivian's Anomaly Proficiency by forty for ten seconds. This effect can only trigger once every twenty seconds.
Drive Discs:
For Vivian’s optimal Drive Disk set, use a four-piece set of Phaethon's Melody. Its two-piece set effect increases Anomaly Mastery by eight percent. Its four-piece set effect states that when any squad member performs an EX Special Attack, Vivian’s Anomaly Proficiency is raised by forty-five for eight seconds. Additionally, if the EX Special Attack is executed by someone other than Vivian, her Ether DMG increases by twenty-five.
For the additional two-piece Drive Disk set, use either Chaotic Metal or Freedom Blues. Chaotic Metal increases ether damage by ten percent. Freedom Blues increases Anomaly Proficiency by thirty.
Drive Disc Main Stats:
For Drive Disk four, use an Anomaly Proficiency main stat. For Drive Disk five, use either an ether damage percent main stat or a penetration ratio percent main stat. For Drive Disk six, use either an anomaly mastery main stat or an attack percent main stat.
Drive Disc Substats:
For Vivian’s drive disk substats prioritization, first prioritize Anomaly Proficiency, second prioritize Attack Percent, and lastly prioritize either Penetration or Flat Attack.
Teams:
Vivian’s best team is herself, Yanagi, and Astra Yao. Yanagi can be replaced with any other Anomaly character, including Burnice, Grace, Jane Doe, Miyabi, and Piper. Vivian could also probably be played in a mono Ether team with Astra Yao and Nicole or Zhu Yuan. This is probably not optimal, but her core skill still procs when an enemy is affected by Ether Anomaly. A free-to-play team is Vivian, Piper, and Lucy. Rina can replace Lucy if you have her.
Bangboo options:
An S-Rank Bangboo that Vivian can use is Resonaboo, assuming you have two or more Ether characters in your team. It deals Ether damage and accumulates Ether Anomaly Buildup.
An A-Rank Bangboo that Vivian can use is Devilboo, who has the same requirement as Resonaboo and does the same thing as Resonaboo but with less Anomaly Buildup.
There will also be a new A-Rank Bangboo, Overtimeboo, who will release alongside Vivian, so she might be able to use it. Robin the Mockingbird Bangboo will also likely release with Hugo.
Mindscape Cinema Levels:
Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema One is as follows: Blooming Strike's damage is increased by fifteen percent. Additionally, if a teammate activates an Attribute Anomaly while Vivian performs Blooming Strike, an extra Blooming Strike will launch zero point eight seconds later. This effect can occur once every five seconds.
Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema Two states that enemies suffering from poison receive twenty-five percent more damage from all attribute anomalies.
Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema Three increases Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack by two levels.
Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema Four states that when Basic Attack: Grounded is initiated and a Perfect Dodge is triggered during the dash, one extra Charge point is restored. When Basic Attack: Grounded connects with a target, an extra Enhance stack is consumed, and a Blooming Strike is launched at that target.
Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema Five increases Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack levels by two.
Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema Six significantly extends the range of the Blooming Strike executed during Basic Attack: Floating and increases the Core Passive's Damage Multiplier to five hundred percent of its original value. When Basic Attack: Floating is activated, it consumes all Enhance stacks, with each stack triggering an additional Blooming Strike.
Mindscape Cinema 1 vs Signature W-Engine:
If you have enough pulls to either get Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema One or her Signature W-Engine, I would recommend pulling Vivian’s Signature W-Engine because it provides her with a lot of Anomaly Proficiency and her Attribute Anomaly Buildup Rate; meanwhile, her Mindscape Cinema One only boosts Blooming Strike's damage and lets her use an extra Blooming Strike.
Dolphin Stopping Point for Mindscape Cinema Levels:
If you are a dolphin, I would recommend stopping at Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema One because Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema Two is not that great.
Should you M6 as a Whale:
If you are a whale, I would not recommend pulling for Vivian’s Mindscape Cinema Six because on-field D.P.S. characters’ Mindscape Cinema Levels are much better than Vivian’s.
